  1. Right. Not my first rodeo. We've seen that happen - it was a textbook Ron play. I absolutely hate playing not to lose especially with how the offense was finally getting in rhythm. But given how trash Elf was all day and the dropped snap on 1st down putting us behind the sticks, with how bad Icky was getting beat most the afternoon - I can understand the reasoning behind it. I wouldn't have done it - I still hate it. Even more so in retrospect but if the refs get one of those 2 calls right we likely hold on. Hindsight is always 20/20.
  2. That is inex-fuging-cusable on the refs. Absolute horrendous roughing call on Burns. Then not calling the intentional grounding despite explaining to the crowd why it should have been intentional grounding. Just terrible. Absolutely atrocious.
  3. Like those old bud light commercials said "Its only weird if it doesn't work" Here's to your new chair!
  4. Ceiling - Super Bowl Winner Floor - 1st overall pick Did I go out far enough on the ledge with that one? If the line plays how we hope it does, CMC and DJ stay healthy, Baker returns to his 2020 form and Brown can make that leap in year 3 then we are much closer to the Ceiling than the floor. Is it a lot to ask? No doubt. Does that make it impossible? I don't necessarily believe that. While in total it looks like a perfect storm, individually each of those components aren't that farfetched. I've maintained since before the draft a LT at 6 and Baker makes us a playoff team. I'm not wavering on that now.
  5. Can't forget we made Drew Lock look like John Elway a couple years ago too although I can't remember if he was a backup for them or their initial starter who came in.
  6. Are you new here? I have nightmares still of backup QBs throttling us for years. Romo on prime time TV Gus Ferrotte in MN Matt Hasselbeck in TN Jake freaking Delhomme in Cleveland Christian Ponder in MN Brady Quinn with KC Post But Fumble Mark Sanchez in Philly And I'm sure there's others... Those are just the ones seared into my brain.
  7. Mims and a 5th for TMJ and a 7th. I was a huge of Mims coming out I like TMJ a lot but there isn't another WR like Mims on our roster.
  8. I'd love to see one completed deep shot to Robby or DJ Doesn't need to be a TD but an uncorked 40-45 yard chunk play to one of our top WRs would be great to see given its absence from our offense the last few years. Also interested to see if the run defense has shored up from last year.
  9. Pass catching TE would be nasty. We know Ben McAdoo is a fan of pass catching TEs. Mike G is a stud but hes had some wear and tear injuries - nothing to miss major time but some nagging low back stuff thats kept him from being dominant. You also gotta pay the man which is likely why he is on the block to begin with - probably starts at a baseline of Hunter Henrys deal of 3 - 37.5. Basically 3 times what we paid Thomas. Do I think hes 3 times better than Thomas? Yes. Does that mean I'm willing to pay 3 times more than Ian Thomas? Ehhhh, that ones a little tougher but if they'd bite on Thomas and a 4th I'd pull the trigger.
  10. I'm gonna be honest... I dont see the dirty hit. Maybe I was expecting so much more based on the tweets coming out you'd have thought he singled him out and came in from across the field like a heat seeking missile and decapitated him away from the play then pissed on his body after. Now again, only one of those videos load for me so if I'm missing context through other angles thats on me but here's what I see. Kick and play is heading to the right. Robinson is on the right of the field - this isnt outside of the play like he ran across the field and sought the WR out. Best I can see it looks like Robinson isn't even moving when he makes the block and leads with head/shoulder area (I can't tell which makes the contact and you're lying if you say you can see either definitely) and he drops him immediately. It doesn't look like a blindside hit to me, why would Wilkerson be running/looking left when the ball/play is clearly going right? Wilkerson crumples and Robinson does the stomp celebration. Doesn't even look down at him far as I can tell. Looks like your normal big hit celebration to fire up the team. Make the argument its practice if you want but they're wearing pads in a ST drill. I would assume the fact he is still on the roster would lend some credence to the fact that Scott and Rhule don't think it was as egregious either.
  11. Honestly? Throw is late and gave the LB time to get close because CMC was about 3 zip codes away from him out of his break. That said, in Matts defense hes probably only thrown to any of the starters a handful of time. I'd expect the timing to be off.
  12. I'm getting back to work till team drills come back.
  13. Nah - the pace is frenetic and the offense and defense are lining up at the same time. Defense was dominating them in 7v7. 4 forced fumbles/pass break ups from hard clean hits. Pats radio team says their players don't look ready to get hit. Cant say the same for offense because they're focusing on their own offense but the D sounds like they came out more prepared than the patriots
  14. ANOTHER hard hit and forced fumble. Downfield completion to Kirkwood.
  15. Brandon Smith with a big pop to break up a pass and then a forced fumble per the pats radio team
  16. Bozeman being carted off per patriots radio
  17. There were two miscommunications - one on the rpo to Smith where he was blocking rather than looking for the ball and a second on the 3rd down along the sidelines where the receiver didn't break when/where Baker expected him to. Then the mishandled snap. These are ALL errors that are usually the result of a lack of reps and timing. If I'm seeing that as a coach and my seat was a little warm - tomorrow I would declare the competition over and give Baker all of the first team reps from here forward to get that corrected. This of course will likely not happen because ole Rhule isn't capable of looking in the mirror and realizing this charade is detrimental to the team and in turn his own job.
  18. Intrigued by the Izzo add. Was getting a lot of hype in camp when he was drafted before he got injured as a blocker and just became expendable when they got Henry and Smith. Probably nothing more than a body at this point with his inability to catch on anywhere since then but looking forward to seeing him in game.
  19. First look at Baker in a panthers uni, of ourse Matt Corral, WRs not named DJ and Robbie, the new and improved offensive line, CJ Henderson and his next steps in the secondary. Theres enough I'll be watching the third and fourth quarters for more than just background noise this year.
  20. Ding Ding Ding. Was 100% coming to say this. I fully expect tomorrow when Baker gets the snaps that Boze is his center. Let them get the exchange down together and mirror each other throughout camp.
  21. lol okay. Hes not Josh Allen or prime Cam... but hes also not Teddy Bridgewater, Chad Pennington, Kenny Pickett or Jimmy Clausen. He realistically is probably a top 16-32 arm in the league. Accurate, high velocity, low elevation ball. Bakers issues have always been those that come with a gun slinger QB. Its the "No, no, no, YES" plays that eventually turn into "No ,no, no, no, no nooooooooo" plays and the mixed bag of results that come with that style. I'm not saying he's a top 16 QB in the league but from a purely physical aspect there arent 64 QBs with a better arm than Baker. There probably arent 32 either.
