I’m a Stroud guy, but the current best guess by the majority of “sources” and reporters is that Young is the guy. I don’t get the issue with this. Nobody knows what the Panthers 100% think at this point, probably Young, but it might be Stroud, who knows. Young’s floor is 2 whole Strouds is maybe 5. This seems to be pretty clear cut.

How the Top QB's performed when faced with pressure..

And this is a very fair criticism from the pro Young crowd. He is very inconsistent in this area. Can he improve? Was the Georgia game a glimpse of the future? If no, I understand people being very hesitant. If you think it represents what he will be, then it is also very understandable you are very high on him. I don’t know if Young can be expected to improve his height, that would be stretch to say the least (purely added this sentence for that joke). -

I totally agree with you, the losses were not solely Young’s and Strouds fault, they were a “team effort”, as were all the wins. I’ve just seen the Stroud losses against Michigan as something to hold against him so I was just countering that a bit. -

Sounds like their performance was very similar under pressure in terms of QBR, which is very interesting. Most yards etc is a little bit less interesting as the times they were pressured is a multiplier of sorts. -

I think the talk about his failures against Michigan are a big overblown. Those games were decided by the run game as in Michigan ran wild and the Ohio State defense couldn’t stop anything. Could he have done more? for sure, but to put it squarely on him is a stretch. Did you know that Bryce Young only had two games in 2022 where the opponent scored more than 30 points, and lost both… -

The success when blitzed is a combination of getting the ball out quick and accurately, as well as an indication of good o-line. Quickly getting the ball out is great. A very strong point for Stroud. When pressure arrives, that is the question. I’ve seen a lot of good examples of him navigating pressure (the Kurt Warner breakdown of the Michigan game is one example), and of course the Georgia game. So you have two choices: 1) Believe that he can do it and what he showed in the Georgia game (and other games) is what he projects to be in the NFL (common Stroud supporter view). 2) Believe the examples of him navigating pressure well are all outliers and he will not improve at the next level (Young supporters obviously supports outliers ). In the end it all comes down to what you project him to become at the NFL level. -
I usually say I love you enthusiasm, but I think you would benefit from slowing down a bit, Corral is nor better than Young, that is a bit crazy even for you.
-
Question for you. If you could magically make him 6’3” and 230lbs. would you do it or do you think his size is perfect the way it is?
-
Yes that is the upside and future potential view I’m looking at as well.

Which Top QB better fits the new OC play calling style..

To say that Young is head and shoulders (no pun intended) better that Stroud is a statement very few, if any, analysts agree with. I have to respectfully disagree on this one. -

Awesome drive. But I couldn’t stop thinking that they only scored 3 points before this drive against Auburn? -
Are you saying the pool was too deep for Young and he needed help?

Got you, so he didn’t say anything other than whatever you think represents Young as a player? I was hoping for a bit more lol. Did he say he wanted a really short QB as well? I think Young is the expected pick at this point, but constantly throwing out opinions as facts is getting a bit stale to be honest. -
You are correct, but he is a top 5 in most places, such as the Athletic. So let’s not pretend he is far off from a value perspective and that it is a niche viewpoint. Looking at both the Athletic (incl. Brugler) and Matt Miller they both rank Young at #2 and Stroud at #4. So this large gap seems to be your personal opinion and that might actually be a niche opinion. Maybe that wasn’t your intention, but that is how it reads.

I admittedly missed this, can you share? -
Quick question about Albright. I’ve seen him referenced a lot throughout the off season. Has he got anything correct, ever? Not sure if I should think of him as a good source or not.

If the rookie can’t start the season we drafted the wrong rookie.

I think they will release an extensive behind the scenes video after the draft which will be really cool to watch. They won’t divulge everything but will most likely share some cool stuff.
-
I think he can escape pretty good. My concern is if he will escape and pass or escape and run around for a long time like he did in college. I don’t think that would work.
-
In a way they would be better off building a team and preparing it fur a rookie QBs next year, kind of what we did in terms of O-line, strongish D etc.
-
This made me lol. One thing the whole Stroud vs. Young debate has brought is a lot of good memes and funny comments. I’m a Stroud supporter but I laugh with both sides, and this is just really great stuff!

He is tiny and an outlier size wise. That is just a fact. It might not concern you at all, which is totally fine. But continuing to argue that he is not small is just really weird. Saying people are stupid when they are concerned about his size is also weird.

I think we are really setting ourselves up for BPA. No need to reach for a WR unless one falls.

I’m slowly coming around to Young, I have to admit. This might not be good for his chances though
