  1. I’m assuming you loved Saleh as well? I don’t know what makes Ryans any different from him. Enthusiastic, smiling, running down the sidelines high fiving his players. I might be wrong, but I just see a younger Saleh which is meh to me.
  2. He is definitely still a candidate. Is he the favorite? Probably not.
  3. I would prefer an offensive HC, but I would be ok with Wilks to give him an off-season to build his own staff, update the roster to fit what he is looking for etc. I believe he has all the leadership qualities a HC should have, but still learning some other points. I don’t get the interest in other potential defensive HCs, like DeMeco Ryans, at all. If you want a defensive HC there is no need to move away from Wilks. The 49er defensive line is the best in the league and when Ryans leave the next DC will also look great behind that line. So for me is top tier offensive coach or Wilks. I would probably lean towards Frank Reich if I had to pick.
  4. Feels like Tampa is an unorganized poo show this year tbh. They should be better with that roster. Leftwich looks like a disaster and has probably taken himself out of any HC openings, Todd Bowles let Brady run the show and the team is paying the price. They might still win, but I wouldn’t mimic their approach.
  5. That was super impressive. He showcased an ability to improvise, and being able to run when needed. Super interesting to see where he stands with scouts after that performance.
  6. I’m cool to disagree as I like Wilks. I see our current OC and QB and feel like this is the only way for us to play. Not sure how multidimensional we can be. It is not his choice at OC nor QB, but he’s making lemonade from those lemons. I don’t hold the Arizona poo show against him, but instead something he learned a lot from. I also understand the wish to finally get an offensive HC. But there are way more Hackets than Shanahans out there. I see Wilks as a Tomlin / Harbough type coach with the potential for sustained success.
  7. So are you looking for us to not use our strengths (running the ball) and instead air it out, just because? What would be an example of a modern HC thing you are looking for?
  8. He looked terrible until Rhule left, like many other players. I was in the camp off essentially cutting him under Rhule, but now he looks awesome.
  9. The question I have is: Who would have done better than Wilks after taking over as interim coach at the same point in the season?
  10. He’s kind of on his own right now. This is a weird take, but being on his own kind of suits him, he’s awesome at improvising when a play breaks down, just like he was in college. I’m curious to see how he does in a proper system surrounded by more talent. Will he adapt and play in the system or will it always be hero ball for him?
  11. Could JSN be the slot receiver we are looking for? Apparently he ran a 4.64 coming out of HS and is rated as a 3rd rounder by some teams (according to Brugler). What’s everyone’s take on him? I don’t watch much outside of my heels so I really haven’t seen him play, and I know he’s been injured this year. Sounds like his strength is to get open, so he could be a perfect slot guy.
  12. I get the reasoning 100%. It’s the “haha, we lost, in your face” that baffles me.
  13. I can see both sides. I like to win any game we can, but I also see how that might not be good long term. What I wouldn’t to have Herbert at QB… But it is really weird when a supporter of a team takes a loss and rubs it in the face of another supporter of the same team.
  14. I read that he’s dealing with an injury, that’s why he wasn’t on the hands team in the end.
  15. No doubt Rhule and the Temple coaches were terrible. But they are mostly gone and we have a great O-line coach, a very good special teams coach, good to very good defense staff. If we can get a great OC we should be in really good shape. If Wilks stay I hope we can get Frank Reich or Jim Caldwell as OC, it would completely change our offense. If we go for a new HC, we need someone with an offensive background. But I don’t see the need for starting with a clean slate coaching wise.
  16. Good for him, he was a great teammate while here.
  17. Why would he be an update? I’m not that impressed by him tbh
  18. He drafted a head case in the first round in 2020, Isiah Wilson. He drafted an injured CB in the first round in 2021, he let AJ Brown go etc. So there was plenty to choose from tbh.
  19. That will be a great game to watch Stroud!
  20. This is always an interesting one. The thin resume guys haven’t had as much of a chance to show what they can’t do, so it is close to 100% upside. The more experienced guys have showed more of their limitations. So the limited ones have more of a “what if?”. But it is such a guess work on how any of them will truly develop.
  21. I’d like to see Siaki Ika next to Brown, that would be an absolute wall.
