How bad was Hurney after the first round in 2011?
OceanPanther replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ok,, if we got Cam Newton, our franchise QB, that took us to the Super Bowl, was an MVP etc.. Wasn't that an A+ draft. Franchise QB are not easy to come by. So if Bryce Young becomes a "franchise QB" , I'll be very happy. Sure I want Mingo and others to become part of a bigger plan,, but getting a franchise QB is a home run to me. And if ALL those talking heads who said BRYCE YOUNG IS THE BEST, A FURTURE FRANCHISE QB.. they too should be saying we knocked the draft out of the park. -
Exactly.. if Bryce Young becomes our franchise QB , This draft gets an A+ I thought Terrence Marshall Jr was the steal of a draft,, so far, not so much. Hopefully now that team Rhule coaches are gone , he’ll find his footing. But I have my doubts still AND MINGO COMES IN AND FINDS HIS PLACE EARLY . . Im not going to judge the DJ Johnson pick until the coaches show us their plan. We’ve learned over the years not to judge a player by the reactions of Huddle banter and armchair GM’s lol The rest,, just make the team

Mike Kaye explains DJ Johnson pick
OceanPanther replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'll never understand why fans who are sales people, truck drivers, doctors, lawyers, native American chiefs, think they can read a bio on a player, watch 4 min video , written by a talking head, or twitter guy , and think they know more than professional coaches,, who's jobs are on the line. Yeah, they don't get them all right,, but they find needles in a haystack more they twitter guy does. I don't think Johnsons a reach for a possible 3/4 defense. Time will tell. -
My "sources " ( some mystical Huddler who knows more than professional coaches ) tell me , that the Panthers will trade back to get the 259 pick in the 7th round,, to get, ( you guessed it ) , Mr. irrelevant . We know this is a copy cat league,, if San Fran can find their QB Brock Pretty at 259,, you can bet others will try.. We're trading back, a Clayton Tune type,, better yet,, submit names of your favorite QB Division III or II ,, Do the research,, find out who Leigh's QB was,, or the school of your liking.. Scour the Australian football league even though they don't have a QB ,,

I had Panther Burgers last evening before the draft. It was the food needed for the Panthers to pick the correct QB .. Tonight ,, Eastern NC BBQ pork.. yeah,, trench food. As much as I want a stellar WR , I think they'll go to the trenches with the pigs ,, BJ Ojulari DE LSU or O'Cyrus Torrence OG Fla. WR Jonathan Mingo Ole Miss or Jalin Hyatt, Tennessee.

Who carries THE, BLACK JERSEY , BLUE PIPING , WHITE #9 , YOUNG , to the draft ? Is it in Tepper's suitcase ? Frank Reich's ? Fitterer ? We know everything else LOL

An island along the coast of the Carolinas ,, PANTHER BURGERS , Swelling Beer 1st over all pick make the evening relaxing. We may know our pick before it's dark

The QB class of "next year" is always talked up as being better than "this years" . Many thought Levis would be the number 1 QB coming into this draft... till he played another season in college. A bird in the hand ( Bryce Young ) is better than 2 in the bush ( AR and maybe Williams or Maye ) As others have said.. nice conversation but it's not going to happen.

"A runt of the litter appeals to many buyers. Runts are frequently the heroes in fiction and movies. The runt at eight weeks is a true survivor. Much like the fictionalized runts, the runt puppy has beaten the odds and has continued in its quest for life. The runt stands out among its many same looking littermates. Its diminutive size can be very attractive to many different buyers." Ok, then after week 8 , I'm hoping we have our hero

The Whole "SEC" Argument is So Badly Flawed
OceanPanther replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
Joe Theismann was 6' and 190. ( many say he was never 6' in cleats ) . When Joe played the defenses were allowed to crush the QB and any other players. Yes, he had a career ending injury after 11 years in the NFL , being an MVP, winning a Super Bowl. Yes, there have been many smaller type QB's that have very successful careers at the highest level. -
I understand some of these "tweeters" may be legit,, But this is pretty much 3rd or even 4th hand. I bet you get 50% percentile for signing your name lol, It's sorta like the report of Farris Bueller being sick,, " Uhm, he's sick. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

We've got to look hard at the future.. Long Snapper , J J Jansen isn't going to be here forever.. It's time to build. With that said.. I truly have confidence in this staff to make the correct choices ,, They may actually know more than I do about this. ( See, Tepper and I have something in common ) GO PANTHERS

Sunday Ticket pricing for YouTube announced
OceanPanther replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
Before Youtube sells NFL package for September, they need to figure out their deal with MLB that they lost and still raised prices.. -

I always wonder how "they" get their statistics . How can NY City not be in the top 10. ( that is, at least from my experience it should be lol ) . I spent a week in San Diego last fall. I noticed parking for a Padre game downtown at Petco could be as low as $15 or some that were $50 . I didn't notice food and beverage prices being over the top. Then again I don't go to the Michelin Star restaurants. La Jolla was pricy , 10 miles north of SD .

last year pic,, Fish House next door.. same owners as you know. Yeah, after the summer, it's nice to enjoy the less crowded beaches and water ways..

Chaw'ston and Wilmington are steeped in the Arts .. music festivals,, concerts on the grounds of many gardens, https://spoletousa.org https://airliegardens.org/events/summer-concert-series/ https://www.carolinamusicfests.com/pleasure-island-seafood-blues-jazz-festival.html Many theater groups & Music ( that don't coast $400 a ticket to sit 200 yards away and watch ants on a stage ) History ,, let's just say Wilmington and Charles Town was where it all began for each state. Francis Marion.. The Swamp Fox. If you've never seen fireworks over water ,, it's amazing . The water is year round enjoyment. Some fish, some like boating / sailing ( there's a difference lol ) walking , etc. Ladies love the beaches .. Men do as well. I'd take Chaws'ton restaurants over anything in the south east US .. Beach Bars, where drinking is not only accepted ,but encouraged in the middle of the day. The smell of salt air. These are just my opinions, but I know many agree.

I DO NOT DISAGREE But if the football minds , lets say for the sake of discussion, pick Tanner McKee out of Stanford .. THE HUDDLE WILL GO BALISTIC BLASTING THE COACHES PICK.. That means most want to be like Tepper and pick their own QB .. We're no different. It's easy to say let the coaches do their work ( which I agree with ) until they make a pick that "WE" disagree with , then we're like the meddling owner.
