Until we have to decide what to do with pick 39.

We do like Slater, but I agree on the trade back. I'd take Slater at 8 and be happy AF! Vera-Tucker, not so much. The guy played guard all but 6 games!

If a guy is 6'5", 320 lbs, and nicknamed Nasty, I am NOT fugging his wife! I don't care how hot she is.
-
I hope they do that. I'd go just to see last year's guys.

This post definitely needs to be bumped tomorrow!

I found this from one of my previous posts. Looks like if we cut him, we were on the hook for $20M, although making it post June 1 would have spread it out $15 this year and $5M next year. Teddy still gets his $20M, but now it's $17M from us (all in 2021) and $3M from Denver, plus we get #191. That's a win IMO.

Stephon Gilmore and a potential draft day trade: With the NFL draft set to get underway on Thursday at 8 p.m., the Patriots are projected to draft a quarterback. Of course, exactly where that happens (and which one) remains to be seen. According to a recent report from ESPN’s Dianna Russini, Bill Belichick might be willing to use a major piece of the team’s roster in order to move up (should New England want to do that). “Stephon Gilmore is in his final year of a five-year contract with the New England Patriots,” Russini explained. “He’s making about $7 million this season. The New England Patriots could perhaps deal Stephon Gilmore in a package to move up, if they are in the business of getting a quarterback “I did speak to a team in the top-10 who told me that they had calls with New England,” said Russini.

1. it'll roll into next year's cap. 2. We're still going to be shopping FA's that get cut. A lot of teams can't sign their draft pick right now. 3. We have several players that we need to be working out long term deals with. That starts in earnest next week.

There was a rumor that Tampa wanted him too. This keeps him out of our conference's locker rooms, so that's another win.

This guy gets it. They get a SOLID backup (never should have been a starter) for $3M and a 6th. That's a win for them. It's less than 1/2 what he got from NO, and he saved their ass when Brees went down 2 years ago. He had to go somewhere though, glad he's not a panther anymore.

Man Sacrifices Brownies to Save Wife From Rabid Bobcat

Damn, that escalated quickly! BTW, I'm gonna shoot that fugger!!! lol. -
Randunz has been my rd 2 guy from the get go, when I assumed we'd go QB at #8. That hasn't changed, the guys beast, and stood out while I was watching lance tape. Jenkins looks like your friend's nerdy little brother, but plays angry! Always seems to put that extra little FU at the end of a play, I love that! FWIW, he has 7 starts at LT to go along with his 25 at RT, so he can play over there if needed, at least in college.

Sneakers. I don't play tennis, but I do sneak sometimes. 99% of the time I'm in flops though.
-
Nope, Jags going with Jose Borregales, K, Miami! You saw it here first.
-
good point. They can grab Chase at 6, and a star RT at 18. They have picks 35 AND 50 in rd 2. A starting guard can be grabbed at either spot, and their cap is $9M richer.
-
I sure hope not. I wish he said what we got. It had better be everything.
-
Oh, no doubt. I think there is a very small chance they get "their guy", even if there is one, and have absolutely no data to support my theory. I'm just saying that if Wilson (for example) falls, he's the pick. I personally am all in for a LT. The more articles like this I read, the more I am optimistic about Darnold. Certainly, the poor bastard never had a chance in NY.
-
I hadn't seen this perspective yet. His rookie center was so bad that they backed a truck load of money up to Ryan Kahlil's house to get him to un-retire and he had missed a lot of the prior 2 seasons with nerve damage to his neck!
-
Again, first round quarterbacks aren't guaranteed to be franchise quarterbacks either. That, plus if Darnold actually is good, then you stupidly wasted a first round pick when you could have used it on a player to make your team better. I think Rhule & Fitterer have a QB in mind (don't know who) that they will snatch up at 8 IF he falls. That would be an excellent reason not to exercise Darnold's 5th year option. Granted, that could just be a smoke screen to fool teams wanting to trade up, who knows. I do think Darnold has as much potential as 95% of the qb's available in the draft. the big question is can we get him to reCH that potential.

What Are the Chances of Sewell Actually Dropping to us?

Look at me, I pulled 60% chance he's gone outta my @$$, and you have an algorithm to back it up. -
What Are the Chances of Sewell Actually Dropping to us?
shaqattaq replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agree, 1-3 are 99.9% QB's. Really good chance at least 1 more goes in front of us (trade or ATL). That leaves 3 non-QB picks ahead of us, and I think 1 of them is Pitts. Unfortunately, Sewell is probably the next best player. Maybe a 5th QB goes, maybe a defensive guy or a WR, hell, maybe Slater or Darrisaw is higher on Detroit's board... Anyhoo, I'm thinking there's about a 60% chance he's gone personally. Edit, I think there's a 90% chance Slater is still available at 8, so I would not be a fan of trading up from 8.
