Frank Reich has NO EXCUSES… playoffs or bust in 3 seasons
kungfoodude replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
There really shouldn't be any excuse for not making the playoffs in the next three years. -
Panthers to host former Vikings WR Adam Thielen

Adding both those guys would be crushing the free agency period. -
Yeah, I mean if he is dirt cheap I don't really care. Definitely wouldn't make my list of WR's I would want to sign but I wouldn't pitch a fit unless we really over commit.
-
I literally have zero idea why anyone would be upset about this. The price is amazing and you aren't going to get many more capable #2 QB's than him. Also ticks the mentor box. If people are upset about this, I really don't know what the fug they wanted us to do.
-
Exceptional signing. Cheap, quality veteran that will be a great mentor for our new QB.
-
Which, again would be insane.
-
Plenty will. You can see that forming now. I would genuinely be very upset to trade up to draft Levis or Richardson. I would lose a LOT of faith in the direction of the franchise.
-
Imagine how funny it would be to see Rodgers not end up with the Jets.
-
It will be funny to see them exit stage left if this doesn't happen. I will also have a good laugh at all the butthurt Stroud homers in our fanbase who are already establishing militant opinions about him. IDC who we take between Stroud and Young. I think both have the potential to be franchise QB's. I am just glad we get to make this kind of choice again.
-
I imagine that Stroud and Young are really the only two getting serious consideration. Obviously they will do the due diligence required to evaluate the other two but I can't imagine really any scenario where they believe that either Levis or Richardson are better than Young or Stroud.

My guess is that Lance will start and the plan is for Purdy to be the #2. If Lance gets hurt before Purdy, returns that is basically what Darnold is for. If Lance doesn't show he is "the guy" then Purdy will probably supplant him when he returns. But I highly doubt Darnold is much more than a safety net until Purdy returns.
-
He might perform better than he did here but he is still a fundamentally terrible QB. Purdy is leagues better than him.
-
You do realize we just got rid of a coach that most Huddler's were smarter than, correct?
-
This smacks of someone butthurt about the new coaching staff.
-
I think you are likely incorrect but we will see.
-
I highly doubt you ever see that scenario other than injury. If they felt that way, Lance would be on the trade block or cut block. It's fun for some people to think that Darnold is anything other than a #2 or #3 QB in the NFL, but he has never shown he is anything but that.
-
I highly doubt Lance is as bad as Darnold. He hasn't shown that so far, in his very limited action.
-
I mean, I would have been okay at that price tag. But, maybe we get someone even cheaper.
-
I would like to see Chark, personally.
-
It's mostly #2's and slot guys. Still, it got stupid last year with those guys. Meyers being that cheap is great news for us. We should be able to get an upgrade for a very reasonable price if we want.
-
Don't forget that Jimmy G will be sitting out most of the season.
-
That's not as bad of a deal as feared. This might be a much more reasonable market than expected
-
I was hoping for what happened with Bozeman. It was eyebrow raising that he only got the deal he did last offseason so the talk of him on a big money deal seemed a little unlikely. Foreman is going to be facing a VERY deep market at RB, so we also might be able to get him fairly cheaply.
-
The price is really the thing. Would love to have Foreman back but it is a VERY crowded market with a lot of top tier options.
