  1. Eh...that's not a 1:1 comparison for a couple of reasons. Drew was traded in 2002, when he had just turned 30 years old. So, he wasn't in his prime like Deshaun is currently(who is only 25). That is also from a time when playing late into your 30's wasn't quite as common as it seems to be in today's NFL(which I directly attribute to very QB friendly rule changes over the last decade). Drew actually retired from the NFL 4 years after that trade.
  2. To be determined. If he is a turd in Indy too, then it will probably indicate that something more than Frank Reich was the issue.
  3. Possibly. Remains to be seen. It certainly means that it is HIGHLY unlikely to see him moved anytime soon.
  4. Drew Bledsoe was a four time Pro-Bowl player, so he was a very solid NFL QB. At the moment, Watson's stats through the first four years(with less games played than Drew) are mostly ahead of Bledsoe's. Pretty stark differences in efficiency ratings, TD:INT ratio, etc. Comparable at some level but Watson is on a pretty accelerated track to eclipse him and leave him behind.
  5. Correct. Giving up a second round pick to find out he wants a $20+ mil/year contract is going to hurt.
  6. Honestly, if you just want a special teams/goal line guy, it's possible to get that as a UDFA too.
  7. Agreed. This seems fishy to me. Especially for a UDFA guy.
  8. The Pats just spent a fortune in free agency, so I don't buy this conspiracy theory about Bill "hiding" him. They could have paid him or put a first round tender on him if they wanted.
  9. I am not sure about a top 5 contract for DJ but as Panthers fans, you might as well get prepared for the fact that if we are able to keep him around, it's going to be a hefty price. If we do decide to pay him, luckily we can probably structure the bulk of it to hit when the cap explodes from the new TV deal.
  10. A tank would be fantastic. Imagine getting another top 5 pick to pair with Melo. We might look at this later as the moment that put us on a successful track.
  11. I agree I just think people throw around "generational" a little bit much. I am not sure they have any idea what that actually implies.
  12. You are aware that was college football, correct?
  13. Maybe you should read his teammates reactions, as well. But, by all means, continue to be "Super Instagram Head Shrink."
  14. Funny, I would assume that a trained professional would see how foolish it would be to speculate on someone's psychological conditions without adequate information or at least personally treating them. Or at least that is an opinion I have heard from more than one practicing psychiatrist. Also, he wouldn't be the first professional athlete to lose his mind when they got some money. It could be any number of issues but they don't change the fact that he likely won't be playing in the NFL ever again.
  15. By actually seeing him and treating him as a psychiatrist, not watching Instagram videos and reading articles.
  16. If you read some of the articles on him prior to UGa(which perhaps they were fluff pieces) then he sounds like a kid with his head on fairly straight and a good student. Maybe he is just one of these kids that goes to college and wilds out. It isn't like at a football factory school they are going to provide great life guidance. You are just a commodity to them.
  17. Yeah, and the thing is, if these ARE true and the owner is involved, that also means he knew about this poo.
  18. Drew Brees was also coming off an injury that the majority of the NFL believed would be career ending.
  19. Yeah, the level of scum that he seems to be when you start digging into his background makes this all seem pretty suspect. I will say, again, that if any of this ever gets traced back to McNair, they should absolutely strip him of his NFL team.
