Moton and Tuttle have contracts restructured - $10.7M added to cap space

It is a joke because teams can just restructure deals and free up cap space. Plus the cap increases every year. Dead money is what hurts teams. -

Teams don't seem to get in trouble for overpaying players as long as these players are good players. Instead, teams get in big trouble when they overpay for poor talent or overpay a guy that quits trying after his big payday. The cap is a joke these days and especially for teams with a QB on a rookie contract. -
I think you are going to see a completely different offense. I think Bryce is going to ball out. I just worry about the sack fumbles because that’s tough to fix and defenses keyed on this after it was exposed.

This place could have Tom Brady as a qb and folks would complain. Moton is a stud and has been one of the few players that has performed despite the awful coaching and drafting. -
I'll take 1-0 and celebrate this. We'll worry about next week next week - haha .

I feel the same way but I have a weird feeling that Canales thinks this team is going to be decent and why he hasn't showed his hand. If this is accurate, this is a big advantage for the first game because no one has any tape of our offense. I'd be shocked if our defense wasn't solid.

I disagree and I think we'll quickly see if this year is going to be more of a couple win season or if we have a chance to be .500.

Morgan is in a tough spot and I don’t envy him. Tough owner combined with impatient fans and the fans lack of patience is warranted given that we are likely on our 3rd rebuild in 5 years. Morgan/Beane’s playbook in Buffalo was to free up cap space and aggressively go after players in free agency and especially on the OL and DL. So far we’ve seen this already on the OL.

Panthers bring Jordan Matthews back to 53-man roster

He's a good dude, hard working, and very intelligent. I watched him play a lot in college at Vandy and he's fun to watch. -
Solid LB for many years and I don't think you can find a player that is more dedicated to a team than Shaq. He restructured multiple times and even took less money to stay with the Panthers.

Panthers bring Jordan Matthews back to 53-man roster

I'm happy he made the roster because he seemed to give our offense some excitement when he was on the field. He was open a lot and we can't say that about any tight end we've had since Olsen. -
I don't really know what to make of the bottom of the roster turnover. Maybe this is Morgan being awesome or maybe our team is that bad that other team's castoffs are better than what we have. I think it definitely sends a message to the team that no one is safe other than a handful of players. I'm all for this because less than 5 players on the entire roster have played well enough the past couple of years to be secure with their job.

It looked like he was open for most of the routes and he clearly wasn't the primary target except for the one route where he dropped a catchable ball. He doesn't look slow to me at all and he's a big receiver.

I guess but this doesn’t impact the fact that players need time to develop. Panthers lack patience and why they have been in constant rebuild. I know people that have worked with Dan Morgan and they rave about him. I’m going to trust these people and give him time to turn over this roster.

He’s not going anywhere. He’s the best blocking TE by far at this point and Canales is going to feed the rbs early and often

Some of the greatest players to ever play the game stunk it up the first couple of years. The Huddle is becoming tough to visit.

Here is an unfair generalization that I've heard a couple times and it makes sense to me. NFL players that come from NFL families (ie. Horn and CMC) often times aren't as willing to play through injury as other players. The theory is they are well advised because their dad's played professionally and know that playing injured shortens your career. Who knows, but this made sense to me when I heard it and I've heard this several times. My prediction is Horn is going to have a big year and be injury free.

I think he’ll be a top 15 fantasy receiver, but I don’t think the Panthers are going to throw the ball much and Canales likes to use TEs.

I’m thankful that we aren’t having to cheer for Deshaun Watson. At least Bryce is a good kid. Nothing will make me happier sports wise to see Bryce prove all the haters wrong. He’s such a likeable guy.

Mina Kimes asks Saints' DE Cam Jordan about Bryce Young's rookie season
jtm replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m giving the entire team a do over based on the coaching train wreck last year. We’ll know in the first couple of games where this team stands and whether or not the rebuild is going in the right direction. -
Art Stapleton (NY media) Jaycee Horn possible trade candidate
jtm replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yay, let's trade all of our good players for draft picks in hopes of getting more good players! -
I agree and this notion that the Panthers have been a dumpster fire forever also needs to stop. Panthers have been to two Super Bowls and not long ago chased a perfect season.
