  1. We have: A weak division A roster that finished the season as a top 15 football team A TON of cap space A top 10 draft pick A lot of other draft picks A new coach Most of our key players locked up long term This is a good situation. I am nearly certain that this ship is about to turn around.
  2. I'd say we see what we've got with Corral before we take him in the 3rd. I think the 3rd is a much better round for us to draft O line or secondary depth.
  3. Even with both QBs healthy, they would have gotten smoked. CMC is a great player, but as we saw in his time in Carolina, CMC having epic, earth-shattering performances still equated to loss after loss after loss. The point remains the same. RBs have very limited value no matter how good they are. The 49ers as a team were very well positioned to make a playoff run, and they played a pretty darn easy schedule for the latter part of the season.
  4. I personally didn't say anything about them losing the championship because of their QB play. They lost the championship because they went up against the Eagles, who have been by far the best team in the league all season. They were outclassed at every nearly every position on the field.
  5. I'd feel cheated if my QB threw two interceptions and got sacked five times on the road in an incredibly hostile stadium. There were a few crap calls that took touchdowns away from the Chiefs too.
  6. Nothing to do with a change at quarterback, the most important position in the league though, right?
  7. The problem is none of the calls, or no-calls, led to points or lack thereof, with exception of the unnecessary roughness at the end of the game, which was absolutely the right call.
  8. Disagree with my disagreement all you want, but I think the 49ers were a championship caliber team before he showed up, and I don't think he made a world of difference for them, just like he didn't make a world of difference for us.
  9. There was only one other questionable call that I can think of, which was the ticky tack pass interference call, which again, I believe led to no points.
  10. I actually think they called a very clean game. The Bengals were sloppy and undisciplined. They were making stupid mental errors all night. Joseph Ossai must be sick with himself. I feel bad for the guy, but that was possibly the dumbest penalty of the season. EDIT: For what it's worth, while I don't think the NFL is FIXED, per se, it's clear as day that these refs favor big market teams. I don't know if that's an institutional issue as much as it is an issue specifically with the offiating, but it's painfully obvious that they do.
  11. People are getting awfully hung up over a "call" that had effectively no outcome over the game whatsoever. I believe the Chiefs netted something like 9 more yards on that drive, 5 of which were on a penalty.
  12. The offense was playing better well before Sam got off IR.
  13. Wholeheartedly disagree. Instead of forcing the ball to him the coaches and coordinators had to actually get creative and start scheming people open. It reminds me greatly of Cam's MVP season when his security blanket, Queen Latifah, got injured in camp. Cam was a whole new player. Saw the field better, changed the plays at the line, looked for the open man instead of the best athlete, etc...
  14. By the same token, Carolina improved in basically every single offensive category after trading him.
  15. Doesn't sound like he has a 7 year plan in place.
  16. I think Levis falls to 9. Young and Stroud are both gone to Houston and Indy. I wouldn't be mad with that pick assuming we retain our o-line and actually put together a professional caliber passing offense.
  17. Right up until his failure to trade DJ Moore and Brian Burns I was a huge supporter. I still think he's the man for the job, but I'm a bit more hesitant to sing his praises now.
  18. I said it back before Burrow was drafted that we should do anything and everything to get him. That being said, he's throwing the ball to some damn talented receivers up in Cincy. He would be on a very, very bad football team if we gave up that much to get him, and he ultimately would have been handcuffed by the "throw the ball to CMC every single play" offensive system we had in place.
  19. Wouldn't it be the most "Saints thing" ever to allow us to interview him and then tell us to fug off though?
  20. The one thing people aren't accounting for with the Saints is that they may be flat out unwilling to trade Sean Payton to the Panthers, so this could be particularly brutal news.
  21. Someone asked the other day what it would take to make me quit the team... this is it. If Tom Brady ever wears a Carolina Panthers uniform in a professional capacity I am burning all my Panthers stuff.
  22. Cowboys. Maybe one of three or four times in my life I've pulled for them.
  23. Tepper has futtbucked this franchise pretty damn good, so I'd say he's changed our identity alright.
  24. If teams were offering for him AND Moore what we all heard they were, not trading them was a catastrophic mistake. Period.
