  1. Bump. Was an incredibly intricate scam. I kept watching episode 1 thinking, where's the con? I order for all of this to be a lie, it would have to be an extremely expansive, well thought out and perfectly executed ponzi scheme. And it turns out it was! And when the investigators go to his depressing ass flat in Israel and you see his hunchback mother, you realize how said and pathetic his real life was, and why he desired to get out of it no matter the cost. Also, note I watched it because I was familiar with the production company that made it. So if you liked this, you've got to watch Don't fug With Cats. Spoiler: it's not about cats. It's about the most vile, fuged up poo happening in the darkest corners of the Internet, and an insanely compelling murder mystery.
  2. We're not getting Watson? On top of all my personal feelings about Watson which I won't belabor here, the amount of draft capital money he would cost would have hamstrung this team for the better half of a decade. We aren't close to contending. We have bad pieces, and bringing in one good piece isn't going to elevate the entire team. Rebuild the line, use the draft picks we're keeping to add developmental talent, roll with Sam, and leave our team in better shape for the next regime to take over next year.
  3. Just throwing it out there; the last couple days, the threads created by Zod sound like the track list from an early 2000s post-grunge album. The Watson Thread Fair Warning Awkward That set would have brought the house down at Lollapalooza circa 2002.
  4. Surprised to find that a lot of the same people who won't consider the guy who kneels are all in on the guy who rapes.
  5. And I remain ready to cancel my Sunday Ticket subscription and free up my Sunday's. Your move Tepper.
  6. Or Surviving R. Kelly on Netflix. Or the NXIUM documentary on Hulu. Or Jimmy Savile: The People Who Knew on BBC. Or...
  7. It's semantics because football isn't a court of law where that distinction matters. Saying, "I'm a fan of a player for whom there exists a preponderance of evidence that he sexually abused 22 women" is absolutely no better than, "I'm a fan of a player who is a serial sex offender beyond a reasonable doubt."
  8. I'm sure I'm not the only person who read Endurance in high school, so it's pretty cool that they just found her! https://www.reuters.com/world/shackletons-ship-endurance-found-beneath-antarctic-ice-100-years-2022-03-09/
  9. Can't speak for everyone, but that kind of semantics matters but little to me. I demand better.
  10. I need it. My 2022 has been butt-fugging awful so far. This really would be the cherry on the cake. And let it be known, to any who may be listening; I will happily deal with the pain of inadequacy! Gladly slog through a decade of mediocrity. I'll watch with frustration, I'll rage at the screen, but I'll be a Panthers fan if they're doing it the right way. But I won't be a fan of a franchise that tries to win, not matter the cost. I won't compromise my morality to cheer for a sports team. You tell me the alternative is Sam? Or Malik? Or an aging, broekn down Cam. I'll watch. I'll cheer. I'm in. Deshaun is in, I'm out.
  11. Yeah, but this isn't under a magnifying glass. This is in front of a telescope. On the NFL Network last night, they had a special program celebrating the contributions of women in the NFL for International Women's Day, and then cut to coverage of how teams are waiting anxiously waiting on the grand jury decision for the 22 credible counts of sexual assault against Deshaun Watson, so that if they decide it's not "criminal" they can beat down his door to give him a huge contract and make him the face of their franchise. If he just settles his grievous misconduct with his nearly 2 dozen accusers financially, then we should stop impeding this man's road to fame and fabulous wealth. Now let's pat ourselves on the back about how little girls can hope to grow up to be sideline reporters and cheerleaders. This right here, is the embodiment of the whole issue; if you can play ball well, we'll look the other way. Well I don't have to like that, and I don't have to tolerate it. And if my beloved franchise tells me I should, then fug 'em.
  12. No, and yes I'd stop being a fan. It's taken a lot for me to even think of a statement like that. I've been through a lot of dark times with this franchise and it's never shaken my fandom. But the crashing waves of bad decisions, one after the other have really worn me down, and that trade would probably push me over the edge. Not forever, but my fandom would be on pause. I wouldn't watch. I wouldn't wear any Panthers kit in public, and I certainly wouldn't spend a penny on their merch. At that point, I wouldn't feel good about the team, the players, the leadership, or the trajectory of the team. So what, exactly, would I be rooting for? The color scheme? I'd come back when the offending player was gone, and the horrific fallout of mortgaging our future on him wasn't so obvious. It would be a while.
  13. Well then you weren't really asking, "Your solution for the QB situation?" then, were you?
  14. Fix the O-Line and roll with Sam this year. Then re-evaluate and adjust. The QB situation won't be resolved this season, and I'm terrified by the prospect of us trying way too hard to do so.
  15. CMC is a luxury item we can't afford. He's the hood ornament to a quality roster, and we need building blocks. The Rams experiment paying off will encourage someone who is a serious championship contender to mortgage their future to get pieces for a run at a Super Bowl title this year. ...the more I think about it, the more I realize we probably should have done that back in 2015.
  16. WTF? I just measured, and even I have bigger hands that Pickett. I can't palm a basketball, much less sling an NFL-sized football in the rain without it slipping out of my hand in the wind-up.
  17. In a sensible year, trading back should net us a first this year, a first next year and change. But Rhule (and everyone else) knows that he needs to make waves now, and can't afford to trade for future picks won't be around to use. So everyone will offer him late round picks for this year, and he's in no position to bargain. Frankly, at this rate, considering how bad our bargaining position is, I'm doubtful we'll be able to trade back, and feel like come draft day, we'll be sitting at 6. If we net new draft picks, it will be by trading away future picks or players this regime won't be around to miss anyway.
  18. If for nothing else, in this situation I feel compelled to say, "Thank Christ Matt Rhule is our head coach!"
  19. We have Sam Darnold. We don't need to add another Sam Darnold. Let's roll with Sam Darnold until we have a realistic shot at someone other than Sam Darnold or another Sam Darnold.
  20. Damn, I'm watching that video and I'm thinking I really wouldn't mind us spending a day 2 pick on Cole Turner. Apparently not a great route runner, but I wouldn't mind having a target that big in the end zone. Between the size mismatch and his ability to go up and make catches with his hands, not many defender could stop him. Could definitely help our red zone woes.
  21. Seems like a very average veteran deal. Locked up a key piece and didn't break the bank. I like it!
  22. Beyonce was up there. I'm not even a huge fan, but damn, that is what a performer is paid the big bucks to do. She put on a show.
