Hated missing on Slater but Ickey is looking like he can be a great long term answer for us.

Yes but at the game it felt like the Bucs were having a 4 quarter stroke outside of a couple of plays. Didn't feel like great football but better and a lot more fun. Leftwhich pretty much proved why he should not be inconsideration for a HC job yet. Yikes and I was looking forward to seeing what he can do the rest of this year in relation to our search.

Ladies and Gents say hello to your 2023 starting QB
Waldo replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
As a QB? Not a chance at this time. As a rodeo clown for sideline entertainment at home games? Worth a pitch to Tepper. -
It will now be a lot more fun to watch but I wouldn't go more than harder to beat going forward. We are still on path to pick top 5. Run the ball, play good D and pray. That is our gameplan and it is beatable. It is a lot better not being the gimme game on every other team's schedule. One win and people are losing their damn minds. I was at the game so I know I missed a lot but this much hype for this team just screams reality check needed...or incoming.

Boz didn't disappoint and was again proof that if you were a Rhule guy, you are the wrong guy. He should have been starting all year. BC is great in the passing game but he is still a liability in the run game. He looks like the biggest weakness on the line and that is a great problem to have for a team that has had years of crap oline play. We are finally looking like a team that has what it needs to develop a young QB.

I have no problem with Corral coming in to compete for a roster spot. Relying on a guy who looked really bad and then hit IR before the season started would be a bad strategy. If we draft a guy at the top of the draft, and we will, then it shouldn't even be a competition unless they draft poorly. It's Ickey and BC all over again from this year. All we did was waste time and reps to get ready for game 1, there should never have been a competition. Play Ickey or you are already admiting you fugged up so just give him the reps. Unless we trade back then play the rookie or you fugged up. If they like Corral so much then don't sign a vet.

It is practice and audition time. I am happy to see if one of these guys can step up.

It is time to see what is what at C. Could be great for the run game.

Cleveland just proved some have not...and we were right there with them utill the end. They really should tho. I woukd rather see smaller shots. Wee bit of risk versus years of pain.

No idea but it's not a great move for them IMO. They went hard for a QB and it's not going well. This just feels like doubling down or someone is sitting on a hot seat. Just feels weird and off to me on their end. Guilt by association is real thing and those people are going to have to answer for their moves and why they are not doing better than they are at the end of the year. Just getting into the playoffs isn't enough for that crew anymore.
-
He was also a crutch for bad QB play and bad OCs to hide behind here. I hope he kills it there but I could also see him getting someone fired if he heads to IR in the next few weeks.
-
That goes both ways sir. Again, nothing definitive except Klien's sources? Not 100% yet. That needs to come from Tepper or Fritts and it has not yet.
-
Klein isn't Tepper and Frits hasn't said clearly he has more than anticipation and expectations on next year and the new coach. I expect it now, a lot more than yesterday. Hell I am more open to it now than I was yesterday.
-
Lots of reasons he would be allowed to trade CMC and from the auditioning to keep his job angle it makes a lot of sense. I'm sure teams were calling anyways so the talk was in the air either way. I think Fritterer is safer today than yesterday. There is a lot of season left and they need to make it to the finish line to truly be safe. Things change and with people like Tepper that change isn't always predictable.
-
Feels like a test and you are 100% right that Tepper allowed it...not sure who forced it because I can't confirm if CMC asked for the trade. That would change the dynamics of the evaluation. Too much unknown for absolutes IMO. Stinks that Wilks was never a candidate that has a chance to be able to fix or help our biggest issues. He can make the D play well but the O is beyond of his ability. He is auditioning to get back to DC IMO the rest of this year.
-
He also said Wilks was in that conversation and his future is very much in doubt. Unless there is more info than just that quote I am missing both possibilities exist and I have seen nothing definite yet but what you would expect from someone trying to keep their job. Last night feels like Fritts being allowed to prove just that. If he was a lock I think that answer would have been different but that is just my opinion.
-
He said he anticipates it but that Tepper makes those decisions. That is not a strong statement but a professional one. That does not sound like as rock-solid as the sources stated but still up in the air.
-
And he isn't involved in the coaching direction? His own words throw doubt on that angle.
-
What I read is that Fitts isn't a lock to stay yet and there isn't a locked in plan in place at this time.
-
He did what I needed to see so I am willing to wait and see at this point...but it's too damn close still. He had a hand in a lot of bad here. Setting up for a good offseason is not only good but it was necessary. I expect to see another trade (Shaq) at some point but he has done well from what we know in the past 2 weeks. If they can avoid giving out stupid heavy backended deals to keep players happy to stay and just limp into the offseason then we should be in a solid spot to hire a competent HC.

Moore? I thought we were talking Chinn. Moore looks dead out there and we both know why. That could swing that situation greatly if it continues to go downhill. If Chinn was also it would for him too. i don't think DJ has gone critical meltdown yet tho. Situations like this breaks plans. It is not something I am hoping for but more worried about getting out of hand. If someone doesn't want to be here enough to take the money we would have to throw at them them trade them and get someone who does. It stinks but here we are.
-
Because they are not on rookie deals and Chinn will still be younger on year 2 of this rebuild. He also wasn't on IR the last 2 years.
