Could we really pick something other than QB or o-line at 6?
Waldo replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
Whatever as long as who we pick up is tradeable for the next crew. It sure would be nice if they played in more than 3 games their rookie years tho -
The why is simple, Tepper has no idea what is going on and still thinks Rhule can work his 3rd year magic... I do wonder if he is thinking something like 'these fans, what is their problem? He told you to trust the process.' There is zero indications that he has learned one positive thing from his Rhule mess yet.

All that would require making good decisions and having a quality plan for the offseason. So far that sounds unrealistic with what they look to have planned. I expect an Anderson extension before an Anderson cut by these people.
-
Lol they just wasted more cap on Thomas so just expect to see the dead weight stay lol, it's all part of the process! I can not force myself to expect them to make decent moves at this point. If a player is overpaid and under performing it just means they are expected to start for us this year I guess.

Meh, fan how you want. I'm not one to place much into hope when the reality of the facts points elsewhere. Thank you Hurney, you made calluses on my fanhood. Tepper is looking like another owner that is 10 years if ever from learning how to run a functioning team. Ok, it stinks but it's not unusial for a new owner and he has a lot more painful lesons to learn while he isn't even done with all the fail that is Rhule yet. This year has all of the makings of a epic fail. I can find fun in that, it's not what I ever wanted but it's what is going to happen because Tepper has not pushed Rhule's powers except making him hire a 'rockstar' McAdoo. LOL I lost interest in watching bad football, I've seen enough for a lifetime. I'll keep doing other stuff with the Panthers on in the background until I forget to rember to turn it on. I am without a doubt not spending another dime on this team as long as they remain incompetent.

QB options Ellis Willams Charlotte Observer

Ouch but probably. -

I agree 100%. That can fly at the school level but he isn't going farther then making the playoffs in the NFL if that is how he is preparing. What a waste of so much physical talent. That is the kind of player where you make a huge trade and don't look back. If they can get 2 1st for him they should take that deal...just not with us lol. Paying a guy like that $30+ million a year? Hell no thank you very much. -

Wow, just wow. -

That is just crazy. It explains some things about his game tho. I can't even imagine how they prepare if he isn't grinding tape. Luke was a machine and there is a reason he knew what the offense was going to do...just crazy lol. -
Minshew would be fine for a bridge starter here...if we were not such a flaming mess now. Rhule is backed into a corner and I don't think Minshew offers much relief to his issues this year. We should have traded for him and not Darnold last year but that bed has been shat. Backup QB just doesn't matter until they do whatever they are going to do about the starting QB first.
-
That remains a giant IF but if it does then he would have teams throwing 1st at Houston for his services. If Houston changes the price of a trade then that is when the Panthers enter the danger zone. I could see this organization jumping on that gernade, from Tepper to Rhule to Fitts. Trading for Sam left me without confidence in all of them.
-
Nope, he needs to get clear first and that isn't looking good, overall or for the 2022 season. So far he is a guy I can only cheer against.
-
I'm still here for the closure this year. I'm guessing another offseason of this crap should be enough to cure my NFL addiction. It nearly was last year but I kept hoping Rhule would be fired and Tepper would grow some knowledge. Even a Sam Darnold trade wasn't enough, Tepper is the problem and it looks like no end in sight. May his soccer team eat poo forever.

IDK, I am just learning about the prospects. Not really trying hard again this year. His stuff from the senior bowl was solid with a lot of upside as a LT and looked ok at RG. Played mean and it stood out every snap.
-
Looked solid and mean in the senior bowl stuff. Athletic, doesn't look like he has weight issues but I don't know much more than that. At a glance we could do a lot worse.

Cousins/JimmyG makes a lot of sense for Rhule (not the Panthers)
Waldo replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Every QB that has come here under Rhule has played poorly as far as career averages. This changes nothing except who I get to watch lose on Sundays. -
Panthers have reached out to Minnesota for Kirk Cousins

'You internet randos know nothing compared to our HC and GM' Signed the two idiots that traded for Sam and picked up his 5th year after dumping Teddy who told the truth about the clownshow that is the Panthers -

I can't wait to see these idiots fired. 0-3 incoming fast lol. -
Jones is crazy AF, doesn't pretend to care, is in a large market with a fanbase that is fanatical and probibly isn't blackmailable like the other owners who hide behind their PR mirrages. They would need all ownership factions to come agaisnt him I would guess. DS will get off. He is a scum bag but he is with the pack so I would guess he is safe. Ross is interesting. I'm not sure who he runs with and who would protect him.

Harbaugh after Rhule screws up this coming season maybe still?
Waldo replied to YourLastThought's topic in Carolina Panthers
That guy won with Baalke as GM and rising fast with ownership. Maybe one of his most impressive accomplishments with the 49ers. I still think he is a very good coach, I'm not sure how good tho. The 49ers were really bad when he showed up and they were bad after he left until they hired their current coach. But like you said, I don't see the dominance outside of that. School vs NFL maybe? The school system is set up to make less a lot more and do a ton of it IMO. -
IDK, Russle looked like a kid with a great arm, very bad brain and a body showing signs of lack of care in the offseason. Outside of the mainstream media and rabid college fans, where politics / money / loyalty come before quality, he wasn't a great prospect at the professional level and had a ton of flags. I agree that the process is broke where the fringe guys get too much hype, I still think it heavily relies on workouts and interviews. From what I have heard about that, it's also why it's a flawed process. I can't believe that there is no team that I know of that uses any consultants during the interview process. Like there are firms out there that help hire people and qualify the potential hires. Just crazy to me. That's how we ended up with coaches asking about sexual preferences in weird improved situations. I still think arm strength matters. I wish there was a clear and firm line in that evaluation but I also think the difference in the balls plays apart of this failure.

I wish I believed we had the capability for that much competency. I have a bad feeling Tepper will learn what a lame duck year in the NFL is after this experience and that there is no such forethought or planning going on inhouse currently. 'Rhule can still turn it around like he did in school every 3 years'....even tho we already screwed up year 2 against that hope. -
Panthers 2021 QBs rank #41 and #42 out of 32 NFL teams
Waldo replied to Billy Love's topic in Carolina Panthers
Jimmy G looking sexy to these people now lol. I bet even he won't come here, or at least I hope we don't waste anything on him this year.
