This is all bad news and all very negative. What a clusterfug. Ohh well. Rome wasn't built in a day but a bowl full of dookie sure is and we are not watching Rome get built here. Keeping Anderson while trading Moore is beyond stupid. Either CB over Reddick is stupid. Tepper thinking he can ghost on this mess and won't have his soccer team or anything else publicly ridiculed is naïve and I look forward to the shame that flies his way. This team is being run by morons from top to bottom and it's just accepted now. Sad days but I guess the poop has to go somewhere. Fug'em all.

As long as we don't have to trade for them or commit much beyond this year, whatever. Welcome new meat for the grinder, I won't care about you but thank you for getting paid to bring us the #1 in 2023.

Panthers conducting 2nd interview with Jay Gruden today
Waldo replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
Why else would they turn the lights off? He got caught somewhere, bathroom stall or such. His adult show that the kids show was based off of was really weird. His work in the Cheech and Chong movie had him doing coke under a table in a restaurant. Could be a fun OC for us. -
Depends on the QB, the cost and situation. I wouldn't send 3 picks for a guy not on a rookie contract. It's too hard to lose the cap space and cheap players those picks could have been. 2 first picks is reasonable, I loved Lance coming out but 3 was too damn much. As for the situation, when I see trades like that and think about what we have going on here and that is a fug no for me. This is the kind of move I do not want to see from people on hot seats, 1st year HCs/GMs or organizations with dysfunction issues. We got 2 of those and the third could be debated so not here, not now.

Well if he doesn't bring Watson with him then sure, why not. He is easy to not like and that makes it easier for me to keep laughing at this mess and the shmear job being done. The only good candidates won't even take an interview so we are talking about getting at best the top of the dregs. -
The 49ers are trying to get a 1st of of Jimmy G lol. So yeah, you can spend a ton of cap and any picks on a QB that's just not going to be good enough either way. Alex Smith proved all of this already and some of you didn't pay enough attention. It just doesn't make any sense. We have already massively overpaid for Sam, just suck it up and draft a guy or sign a guy for cheap like we should have last year. If you think either would get Rhule to the playoffs then you have not been watching the Panthers the last two years.
-
Can you imagine Rhule pitching this to Tepper? I still can't stop laughing. This team is a piñata at this point, the only thing fun to do it keep hitting it and hoping it cracks open. It's probably filled with Miracle Whip but at least hitting it is fun.

I don't see either one caring about Tepper's push. As long as there is a cap his billions can't be used that way.

I don't want to give any hope to anything until we have better people in charge. This crew hasn't put people in the best spots to succeed so Tommy could still become a beast for sure.

I 1000% expect to be blown away by the awesomeness of it all. I am sure I will be excited to give my money away by September...lol

Anything and a lot of not good is possible. There is a lot we don't know that could factor into what Rhule does. Is he given a real ultimatum? Or is he out there doing Rhule stuff? They thought they built a good oline last offseason, good enough to ignore oline way more than they should have ever allowed. So what has really changed other than the obvious public criticism? The level of dysfunction that the organization is running with looks to be growing. Hell throw in the new rockstar OC's influence that could be built into taking the job. Positive or negative, looking at the candidates I expect negative but you know broken clocks being right and all. What about the other people in house trying to distance themselves from Fhule's rule? It's chaos right now and a lot is possible, even the WTF options. There is what I would love but really a lot more is on the table...I just discount great decisions because that is not a standard deviation at this point in the 5 year process.
-
I'm not sure a rookie QB is what any HC wants in a must win year with a seat that on fire, especially when you are picking a developmental QB. By that logic I expect them to take a player that they see as contributing over being a project so the need to value may be way off in their minds. Desperation usually doesn't lead to great decisions from people making poor decisions that led to the desperation. I will belive they can fix the oline when they do, I have serious reservations about believing they can. Getting rid of Elflein completely would be a good start in my eyes.
-
It was time and Ron had a really rough last season here. The fact is that Tepper is a new owner and they usually perform very poorly while making mistakes where they either learn or don't. Unlike coaches, they are not getting fired. It was discussed as a likely possibility when Tepper bought the team. If I had to wish I would wish Tepper would learn faster and not disappear like a fart in the wind when it gets this ugly.
-
Just like at OC, who is desperate enough to come here to watch their careers die. Whatever, just don't trade for another QB and don't give more than a 2 year deal not backloaded.
-
This is also a great way to hire an OC to save your job if you are new to how the NFL works...just lol It's like his mouth is his shovel and every time he opens it he just keeps digging a bigger hole that he will never dig himself out of.
-
In a way he is right, in a terrible leadership way. He hired a bunch of losers and he pushed Tepper to hire other bad options. Here we are, they all are terrible. Group effort and him taking no responsibility just drags other people that are doing poorly also into the blame. Great, bring them all down with you Fhule. Just lol.
-
Dave, If your going to run the Panthers like this then please hire someone competent outside of your current mess to show you how to hire better people and to do that job. Then you can be invisible and we will all be happy. Thanks and fug you, W

Did Matt Rhule even really want to be coach of the Panthers?
Waldo replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Probably sure. He obviously knew little about the NFL so that's fun. I get the angle and I'm sure it's part of the bigger mess but everything about Rhule's ego led him to belive he could do here what he did in some blah level school programs. The money just made it an easy mistake to make. Now I wonder if even decent schools would be like 'hard pass'. Yes I understand how easy it is to get a HC position somewhere at that level but it would be hilarious if he had to go back to the bottom to get back to his middling level of coaching before here. -
Full circle. Just beautiful. Sam did play better with Gase...

I love Gilmore, he was a bright spot this year. It's just a waste when we have young guys that need to improve with as much playing time as possible. We have wasted so much cap already next year and Reddick is higher up on the must try to keep list.
-
Smart play is to let Gilly go find a contender and to develop the young guys on their rookie contracts. We are not competing for anything next year outside of the #1 pick. This year would have been a great chance to play a CB at FS but now we can just go with a rookie, we missed that chance to play Burris when healthy this year while making Chinn play out of position to cover his butt.
