I could honestly wait till after the draft and back fill the roster in places we couldn't in the draft. Oline, CB, S, RB, TE and even any QB laying around to clear out Teddy if we can't trade him.
-
Completely different situations. That was the Achilles injury that taught me that lesson. I was one of the goobers that thought he could come back.
-
It's a good QB and LT draft. CB needs to be upgraded but is a distant 3rd on our needs list. I'm fine with DBs in 2022. Fix the offense and worry about better CB play next year with a stud like this. He looks great tho.
-
Remember we had Gross at LT and Cam at QB.
-
And no SBs, wasted by coaches who couldn't win consistently and still retired early after a year where they made a freak look completely wasted. He was amazing but LBers now are not LBers in the 70s. I would rather spend drat capital on the Dline and DBs. It's a great luxury pick, something we don't have. We already have a lot of money tied up at LBer and have giant and more important needs elsewhere if we want to be competitive.
-
If he can't play QB or LT we shouldn't be considering him in this draft in the 1st. BPA is massively overtouted as the only and best draft strategy, positional value and team needs have to be in the conversation.
-
Perryman isn't healthy enough to rely on so getting another ILB is a priority at some point this offseason, after QB, LT and then CB of course. He will make a fun LBer for someone.
-
I wish I could say it was hindsight but that path was laid out in detail on this forum pre-draft and then came to fruition throughout the year. With Hurney's history it was all very predictable if you look at the facts at that time. I just hope LT is the second target on our needs list for this draft.
-
Brown is great and has a very bright future. I would still take a LT all day, that class was that good. A lot of us were very vocal about it. With Hutney here and Little being his guy, there was 0% that was ever going to happen. That's on Tepper. He should have fired Hurney with Ron and we are still trying to dig out of that hole.
-
Easy, I would have flipped Brown for one of the LTs that went in the 1st after him. Brown is good but DTs are not worth good+ LTs. I get all the angles and anyway you cut it looks like failure at roster managent. Okung was unhealthy, Scott is a backup that can fill in part time and Little wasn't even active when we had no depth at that position. So far, they haven't done anything that patches the line for another year unless there is a miracle, again that would be poor roster management from the new group relying on a miracle. I am sooooo hoping we can draft one in the 2nd, this draft offers us that opportunity. Scott can give us 4 decent games, gives the rookie some extra time if needed. Being 100% honest, it's not unthinkable that some of the guys we could take in the 2nd could flat out beat Scott, Little or Erwing. Ewing is just a bad player. I'm always fine with taking a flyer at a long shot for cheap as long as we are not relying on thar having to work out. There are no good LT options in free agency, it's draft or very likely be worse than last year. At least Okung gave us 7ish games last year, we don't have anything near that as it stands.

Scott is better and neither is the answer.
-
That's concerning. I really hope we are not putting eggs in that basket because it's going to make an ugly mess.
-
All I see is 2 starters, 2 known backups and a bunch of long shots. Erving sucks anyways
-
DG waited for the market to cool. We had a bigger cap mess and the guys we ended up signing had to be cheap. Lots of late free agent signings. At least that is what I remember. Not sure if the market is the same this year, the cap sitation had something to do with that I think.

It's a prove it deal and I would think Rhule and Snow are thr main reason we can thank Reddick coming here to prove he can be a beast. I thank Fritters for not being Hurney and keeping the deal simple and smart.
-
Way too early. Like some move and dislike some moves. He is supposed to be a draft expert so that's what I am really waiting to see how he does. Worried we discount injuries too much now.
-
We signed a LBer that has a terrible injury history. Pretending he is going to be available is just fantasy. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/P/PerrDe00.htm https://sportsinjurypredictor.com/player/denzel-perryman/7260 If he contributes great! Just don't rely on him being available or building a D around him.

It's a perfect fit and description for that team.

Who do you think will be the Panthers 2021 starting QB?
Waldo replied to GOAT's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wilson, Fields or Lance as it stands. No idea how those chips fall -
Sounds like Jets' 2nd pick is open for business...?
Waldo replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
Too expensive and add in injury concerns it's a hard pass for me. -
Perryman is already injured, just write that one off the list of any realistic expectations for this season.
