Harbaugh after Rhule screws up this coming season maybe still?
Waldo replied to YourLastThought's topic in Carolina Panthers
That guy won with Baalke as GM and rising fast with ownership. Maybe one of his most impressive accomplishments with the 49ers. I still think he is a very good coach, I'm not sure how good tho. The 49ers were really bad when he showed up and they were bad after he left until they hired their current coach. But like you said, I don't see the dominance outside of that. School vs NFL maybe? The school system is set up to make less a lot more and do a ton of it IMO. -
IDK, Russle looked like a kid with a great arm, very bad brain and a body showing signs of lack of care in the offseason. Outside of the mainstream media and rabid college fans, where politics / money / loyalty come before quality, he wasn't a great prospect at the professional level and had a ton of flags. I agree that the process is broke where the fringe guys get too much hype, I still think it heavily relies on workouts and interviews. From what I have heard about that, it's also why it's a flawed process. I can't believe that there is no team that I know of that uses any consultants during the interview process. Like there are firms out there that help hire people and qualify the potential hires. Just crazy to me. That's how we ended up with coaches asking about sexual preferences in weird improved situations. I still think arm strength matters. I wish there was a clear and firm line in that evaluation but I also think the difference in the balls plays apart of this failure.

I wish I believed we had the capability for that much competency. I have a bad feeling Tepper will learn what a lame duck year in the NFL is after this experience and that there is no such forethought or planning going on inhouse currently. 'Rhule can still turn it around like he did in school every 3 years'....even tho we already screwed up year 2 against that hope. -
Panthers 2021 QBs rank #41 and #42 out of 32 NFL teams
Waldo replied to Billy Love's topic in Carolina Panthers
Jimmy G looking sexy to these people now lol. I bet even he won't come here, or at least I hope we don't waste anything on him this year. -
He would have been the one great option in this draft if not for his knee. If he faded as a school's season grew then he is going to find hell with that knee in the NFL. I wish he didn't have that injury, it looks like a big one on a guy that would easily be the best QB in this draft if that didn't exist.

The list is of better options than what we have, which is an incredibly low bar. I think you need to re-read what I wrote (I'm not a wordsmith so I apologize for my mess). It also isn't Jim it's Kim lol. And the real one just upped his contract with Michigan after completely using the Viks to get a pay raise. Yeah he would ruin us and leave with bags of money lol. He is more than Tepper can handle sadly so yeah I don't want to see him here and not because he isn't a really good coach. -

The list of better coaches and front office people is so long it's not worth locking onto just one guy. We got a long year ahead of us, I'm here to laugh at these failures before I can begin to get serious about this team again. -
So we are doing to our LBers what we did to our Oline last year? Cool
-
4.5 a year for ST/rotation player? We are paying 4 to Riddick to not play here this year so why not waste more money. Meh, I like the guy as a player for sure but he isn't a starter. Kind of the start I was expecting to the offseason sadly.

Breer: Panthers "between a rock and a hard place" at quarterback
Waldo replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
The 'give Fritterer a shot to rule' crowd is desperate and that is how you move from one mistake to the next. If we were doing a GM search today with no ristrictions his name wouldn't even be in the pile of good options. -

Breer: Panthers "between a rock and a hard place" at quarterback
Waldo replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Here is a picture of the rock and the hard place we all all stuck with: These two willingly traded for Sam and picked up his 5th year option. They are not fixing anything, they ain't got what it takes. -

Breer: Panthers "between a rock and a hard place" at quarterback
Waldo replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Just make him play Sam, it's the best option for everyone else. I don't think we can get a good enough QB that is a vet, at best an overpriced not good enough for our mess. I also don't think there is any one in this draft that can save Rhule. It's amazing how much Watson's legal issues are being overlooked now that trade time is upon us all again. Yuck is the best I can say about that being the miracle to save the day, just gross and nightmareish.- 46 replies

Was Rhule forced by Tepper to hire experienced coaches?
Waldo replied to mc52beast's topic in Carolina Panthers
Just asking questions and making suggestions is reasonable for an owner. Tepper didn't move quick enough with Ron and Hurney was even slower. It would be a great thing if Tepper put limits on this draft, mostly stopping another trade of next years picks even if it is real weak that he had to mandate hiring the new coaches vs just firing Rhule and getting a chance at a good group and not 'the best that would work for Rhule'. -
Riot: Panthers to take a major swing at QB?
Waldo replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
How much are we going to have to pay to get anyone 'good' here? None of the Vets want to come lose here when they can get paid enough by contenders. I guess if we made them the highest paid QB someone will take the hook maybe? It's not for a lack of trying, the best guy they could get was Sam lol. My best option for the year is that Rhule is stuck with Sam. It's too good to be true but is the best 2023 option. -
Rhule will lose, I'm just not sure Tepper cares or can do anything better. I just hope it is an entertaining pooshow. If Tepper does care? Week 6 should be good enough to fire Rhule. Our schedule will be brutal.

See fantasy lol. Have fun chasing unicorns.

Lol, what are you even arguing? If you want to live in fantasy land, I said I can respect your choice. The rest is really not worth the time. Cheers.

He also is a worse QB with more time in the pocket. The build the oline and he will improve fantasy is just sad at this point.

We had a good enough QB for mediocrity the first year, we still won 5 games. We then went all in on Sam and won 5 games the next year with an extra game to play. Everything points to this crew doing another 5 game season. There isn't a good QB that is willing to come here and there does not look to be a QB in the draft that will make much positive impact on the 2022 season at this point. There is 2 years of factual evidence this crew is below mediocre and bringing in one good DB coach and a lot more NFL grade JAGs isn't really making your case. We don't even have a QB to build around so I don't think that example really supports your position the way you think it does.

I would literally bet against those things happening and I do not even bet on things.

Everyone wants Rhule gone but, what if
Waldo replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Too little too late. Do it how you do anyways, this team with marginally better coaching (Wilks is the only positive I see) still has an idiot in charge and an owner that has no idea about the operational stuff at all. If this was Rhule's day 1 staff it would be a bad staff in the NFL. It's not about optimism or pessimism on this subject for me, two years of painful failures and zero reasons to give this crew anything resembling optimism moving forward. My hope is reserved for not doing this crap again next year and Tepper stepping up and doing something right on the operations side for once.
