  1. Jerry had a better idea of how to win. He just hung onto players and staff he loved too long. He was also a bit cheap.
  2. I don’t buy the whole ‘he just wants to make money’ thing. This is a guy who made 10 billion in just one year once. He could make a lot more by selling the team and focusing on trading again. He does want to win. He was just acknowledging reality. He said that because he was saying the only way to consistently win is to have a consistent advantage. Which is true. The guy has only ever won in his life so far. He wants to win he just doesn’t know how yet.
  3. Yeah it sucks that Tepper is an A-hole, but that’s true of many owners. Hell, the eagles won a SB with a $hit show of a front office and they are undefeated so far this year. I think Tepper’s desire to win means he is willing to learn and change. It will probably take him a while though.
  4. 7 winning seasons in 27 years “Keep Pounding” is a fine team motto, for sure, and is threaded through the Panthers’ soul. But “Keep Losing” is what it’s felt like in many seasons. So it’s true that the Panthers have not had a consistent winning culture. They’ve had more of a “Wow, that was a really good season, so get ready for three bad ones in a row” culture.
  5. I don’t see any modern examples of coaches that like that who can sustain success. Good staff always leave. The best head coaches in recent memory have always been really good coordinators. X and O guys. Wilks is not that guy.
  6. So Rhule was great at the relational side of things but bad at the Xs and Os. Perfect college head coach. BTW…That kinda describes Wilks as well.
  7. Stafford would not have performed well here. He threw the most INTs in the league last year, and that was with a better supporting cast and McVay as the coach. Stafford also knew Rhule and co were terrible so it wasn’t going to happen anyway. My gut tells me Stafford would have been on season ending IR at some point during that season.
  8. Ron’s made a lot of money. He’ll retire.
  9. He’s tight with Wilks and Drummond so prob just giving support.
  10. So we’re just going to ignore how horribly Quinn failed with the falcons? Quinn is a great DC. Bad HC.
  11. Talking about how much owners are liked by other owners. Kroenke tried to put the other owners on the hook for hundreds of millions with his St Louis lawsuit.
  12. Yeah, who knows. I think he has a ways to go to reach Haslam and Stan Kroenke status.
  13. He doesn’t make player personnel decisions. He’s basically Tepper’s right hand guy. His full title is: Senior Advisor to the Chairman and Vice President of External Football Operations.
  14. Tepper is giving everyone else free easy wins. Nothing to hate there. Having Tepper eat that big contract is all the revenge they need. The Haslams though. Those are the owners everyone hates right now.
  15. You know him. He was the guy standing behind Ron in almost every on-field press conference. It was him, Marty, and Tep who went to Rhule’s house to hire him. He was with Luke when Luke made that retirement video. He’s been around for a long time. Players seem to love him but his accedence past PR guy is a little concerning.
  16. Was thinking the same thing yesterday during his conference. If you’re not going to be transparent and provide real answers and details, don’t sit up there and get annoyed when people are asking real questions.
  17. He just seems very insecure and defensive. He’s not used to this level of scrutiny and doesn’t like being disliked.
  18. Notice how that guy had to start every point with “it sounds like”. Tepper alluded to some stuff but didn’t say anything clearly of any real substance.
  19. Yeah, terrible look from the get go. The heat seems to be getting to him.
  20. Man, why even do that if you’re not going to answer anything. Tepper was a straight ass during that entire thing.
  21. With Rhule out of the league forever, I expect the stories to come fast.
  22. Steve said the ‘guy’ who reached out to him said “big bro, what should I do?” Who else would call Steve big bro other than DJ or Robbie?
