Less than 1 game from our top D-Line player last year. Less than 2 games from our top O-Line player this year. TMAC is the only reason I’ll watch some games here and there partially for the remainder of the season. Just ain’t enjoyable.

There was a play on that last drive (I think) where TMAC had an effort play where he came back to the ball hard just to make sure the DB didn’t undercut and get the pick. XL would never.

Xavier Legette. 8 Targets for -2 Receiving Yards

Was mentioned in the game thread but he’s been outplayed by two UDFA now. Also, throw in Renfrow who was cut from the team and didn’t make the initial roster. Try to get a 4th and get addition by subtraction this year. -

If Hunt was in, that drive had a chance. -

Dalton has looked worse and worse each time he plays. We have nothing. Just need to sign someone who can scramble well considering our billion dollar o-line sucks this year. -

If rules allowed, we would do better not fielding an offensive line on passing plays. Pitiful for how much money is spent there. -

Bryce going to repeat the Jake TO game? -
It's looking like smart fantasy players without an elite TE should just stream whatever TE is facing the Panthers.

D-Line was the biggest disappointment of the game for me. I already was pessimistic how we'd look on offense... especially with no Coker. The D-Line I was foolishly optimistic given the return of Brown, two players drafted in first three rounds, and free agency spending. The 3-4 is a curse and I don't want to see the Panthers utilize it again for however many years I happen to live.

Our depth isn't looking promising at all.

This year, there's been enough positive talk from core players, free agents, and coaches to where I believe the culture building and momentum is more important than fighting for a worse record.

I probably would have become a casual Hornets fan if Cooper ended up there, but the NBA just solidified my apathy for its product. Hornets also got shafted when Lakers got cold feet on the Mark Williams trade. NBA is corrupt and that alien-headed Silver is the kingpin.

Congrats to @roaringriot….. this is pretty awesome

Displays of luxury spending like this are the only thing that will wake up the poor peasants currently shouting at each other. At least, that's my only way to optimistically look at this trash. -
Steve Smith has a dislike of tall receivers. I feel like Smith's main purpose is to boost up small, lesser-known receivers. Every time I've heard T-Mac speak, he just seems to have that it-factor vibe. I love how natural of a catcher he is. He's going to make some fascinating plays that's for sure.

Clowney was gassed 60% of the time. If you watched closely, it was pitiful watching our line activity by the end of the game. I'd love to just bring him on the field in small doses. Depth is undervalued by many fans and we've done a lot to fix that huge issue.

LB is weak but they’re being supported so much more in front of them than last season. They should have an easier time this year.

You’ve been on a 24-hour bender of whining. Just log off for a few days so we can enjoy the draft without your Eeyore impersonation. We get Brown back and Wonnum for the season. And we can still add someone in a few minutes.
-
We’ve drafted a long snapper… someone takes Sanders eventually haha.
-
Sanders household in shambles.

They only had the ability to make that "value" selection by giving up a ton of value. So, it's a fallacy to point to that as a value pick. Doesn't make sense.

If we can get him to approach anywhere close to Mike Evans territory, he'll be a key part of our team. Excited we have a natural catcher with size. Still would like to get a shifty speedster next year, but that can wait.

So why is Goff signed through 2028? It's because they're building a roster to win now and in the future. You can do both. Having to build up a roster over years and pushing the chips in for one year is a recipe for continual rebuilds with a very high chance of not getting a Super Bowl win in your all-in year. It comes down to getting a return that is greater than what they value him. You do that by hoping a team assumes the potential you speak of is an eventuality. Also, you look for a trade partner that is in desperate need of skill players who are willing to overpay (e.g. Panthers). Trading him can benefit the trade partner and the Lions at the same time.

1) This is their last chance to get decent draft compensation. Is that better? A team who trades for a player on an expiring contract (the 5th year option in this hypothetical) is not going to give up much. The trade is essentially for the first right to sign the player to the second contract. 2) Compensatory pick is dependent on net free agency outcome and performance. A potential, late 3rd round pick next year is not as valuable as a 2nd round pick this year. These are forward-thinking roster moves that winning franchises make. I hope that makes sense to you.
