He's knows the defense holes and he just sits in them or runs a old man slant, *still very well. I'd say its time to move on sooner than later. Honestly if not for cap hit, Id say cut him now....... (that's the heartless GM side.) Panthers should do better than 35 year old 5.09 40 dude with a 8mill cap hit.
-
He's simply too slow, age already pulling on his ankles. If you still want to keep him around, give him some BS coaching title and let him coach up the WRs. It already feels 2025 the 1st or 2nd will be spent on WR.......

I don't know if its the homer in me or what. I thought the Panthers would claim around 5 players and going over the roster.......I see about 3 guys that....most likely to get cut and claimed by another team. Where's the room??? OLB is the hole, is leota better than what's hitting the wavier?? He was a claim last year. Hate away, the OL feels as strong as its been since 2015*health is needed and what can yoshi do?? I think Brady Christensen is only panthers backup that would start on a few teams. Carry on....

I think AT gets cut - https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/13071/adam-thielen I don t see Johnson coming back. Just WR market is as crazy as its been, some team will drop him a bag even with a so-so season. I think he flirts with 1K and few TDs. Honestly its looking like WR is back on the early draft menu. Edge should be #1, if young........ you are leftd with this in 2025 mingo xl 2025 second rounder FA Coker? ???? looks messy if xl or mingo doesn't develop FAST!!

I missed the point, I meant he should have played in the other 2 pre-season games. You are right about that one TD ending series, that was enough.
-
Yep the Viking didn't attempt to resign him. The Panthers are maybe, well the Pats too, teams that even have room for AT. If that type of guy is your best offensive weapon, no wonder they barely won 2.

Bills got Brady at OC too. I doubt he is traded for anything minus another disappointing player swap. His agent was able to scan the league and gauge his value, he remained a panther..... I was once a believer, but facts are he's had 3 full seasons and 4 off-seasons.....sure its been chaos with the staff. Still this team needed WR help during those 3 years and many good-great coaches were not able to tap into TMJ. I've said it before the one group this staff knows best is WR. Crazy as it is, I think Samuel is the #1 for the bills until Coleman can take over. His weak ST is what kills his value. Only those who are no legit 1s and 2s can get by with not having ST skills.

Most of the reports Ive seen about him are shocked he made it this far. The theme is he's just not NFL material, I believe he was on PS the whole last season. Harbs isn't willing to do that this time.

Did Steve Smith influence Tepper into firing Frank Reich?
Basbear replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
panther employee sent by Tepper - "Hey Frank young's got terrible mechanics and footwork, any chance you could improve that??' Frank- "Nope, not touching that until next year." // / / Employee- "?????????????? ".........."Im sorry did I hear you right, you're not going to improve his issu" jumps in Frank- "Til next year." Employees leaves in ultra confusion and tells tepper the comment. Tepper- "I got to fire this clueless joker and the person who hired him in the first place" -

Mike White was just cut and he's much better. I agree he looked totally different and comfy. Who knows he already got the off-season in this system and you need a PS QB. I'd wait to see if better QBs are released, like White. Lance and Wilson could be cut among other "names". But any new QB would need to learn the system, but PS QBing is more about knowing or showing the current opponents' offense. It was one of the biggest improvements Ive seen in PS, those first two games were some of the worst QB play Ive seen since teblows. That 3rd game he was in control and pushing the ball like a real QB.

I think, just like Bryce pointing out he is struggling and struggling and struggling. It is too early to judge, but he's struggling and has for 98% of the off-season.

That's part of my questioning, cause this partly feels like lowering Shaqs influence on the team/D. Cause next year it would Josey still calling with Wallace. Morgan did mention he wanted a sideline-sideline running LB and Shaq has lost a step or two. Shaq said to the public he wanted to play 4 more years. This could be his swan song here.

What 16 players caught a pass that game. Honestly was XL the only WR without a rec?? One hit him in the hands.... He's a wait til 2025 player..
-
I think there's a decent chance that panthers keep 7 WRs as well. (like a 30% chance) QB-2 RB- 3(brooks on pup) WR- ?...(7...7 is the magic number) TE- 4(could be 3) OL- 9(8-10 here too) 0- 18+7= 25 D- 25 ST-3 roster 53

Honestly one of the better #5 WR for the Panthers was Brandon zylstra. He could play all 3 WRs spots and was a good STer. He was a gunner if I member right and those are some of the better players play. Franklin was a good gunner and he's on IR. You have to think Zylstra for those last 2 WR spots. I've done too many rosters and learned about STs the hard way.
-
In past years those 5&6 WRs nearly must have ST skills, which hurts TMJ. Honestly that was what ended Goat rices career, he didn't play ST and how could you make him at that stage? Deal was he still could play, just the numbers for ST forced him to make the move. I thought Ive seen Coker on KOs, but I could be mistaken. STs is dirty and tough for WRs. You still have what 46 active on GameDay.

He's been trans....errra He started the move to TE in 2020 and this is the best he's looked as one. Panthers had a fluff piece on him, he was on the 49ers and told to gain 25 LBs in one month after a talk with shanny. The thing is TE have longer careers, so that move saved him some staying power. I think fans have too high hopes for him, honestly wouldn't shock me if he was cut. He stayed on the PS the whole 2023, any team could have signed him. He's a classic vet and good for locker room moral.

I have not heard that about Josey in Denver. I feel this maybe bigger news and feel our reporters need to reach out. Shaq did have a whole year of watching and tape, but maybe Josey has the better voice. Hmmm. I NEED ANSWERS!!11!!!!
-
I will. Still have the old DVR for such reasons. He should have played more, cause it will take time for that PTSD to weaken. I honestly can not blame him for that behavior, he is human.
-
Id personality keep Coker and ISM. But if a name hit the waiver, I'd hope Coker could make the PS. I feel just on return skills alone ISM is a lock, he's also plays a decent #4 role too. He was one of the few that played hard the whole 2023 season.
