  1. With the 5th year option there are 2 or 3 quarterbacks that will be in the draft that are at Sams age or approaching it. Then if they “sit and learn” they will be as old or older than Sam before they take their first snap. Something to think about. I hope Corral has been taking notes this year.
  2. I really don’t mind the run heavy offense if you have the people to make it work. It takes time off the clock and gives our defense time to rest unlike at the start of this season. As much of a liability as our pass defense is We need to control time of possession.
  3. The time Sam had this year to sit and watch Baker and PJ was a time that Sam appears to have used to learn. The Sam we saw the last two games was the Sam we were hoping to get in the trade for him. He has been more of a game manager, but he also made some big throws today on target. He has not forced any passes and appears to have learned when to get rid of the ball. If Sam plays well the last two games some tough decisions will have to be made before next season.
  4. I think it has to help morale in the locker room to have more people involved in the offense.
  5. I would love us to draft Hooker. However, coming off an injury and his age at 25 will hurt him. I expect him to be maybe a late 2nd at best.
  6. Defense has not shown up. Offensive line getting bullied, as well defensive line.
  7. Now…can we make 2nd half adjustments? We shall see.
  8. Dan Arnold was not a great run blocker, if he had been he might still be here.
  9. It is much better than being the worst team in the worst division.
  10. Has anyone seen Corral on the sideline or does anyone know how his rehab is going? He seems to have fallen off the radar.
  11. This Pittsburgh game has me concerned as well, too much looking ahead.
  12. I hope we do not look past Pittsburgh. These guys would like nothing better to blow up our plans.
  13. I would think the offensive coordinator we have next year’s opinion would certainly weigh heavily on what direction we take on a “bridge” quarterback. Minshew might look at what Trubisky signed for with Pittsburgh and want too much. Digging through the possibilities for bridge quarterbacks is a challenge for sure. I would prefer it not be PJ and 2 rookies.
  14. If we draft a quarterback we obviously are going to keep Corral as well until his ceiling can be determined. It will be interesting to see who the “bridge” quarterback will be.
  15. You have to have a run game to be successful. You cannot be one dimensional and win the the NFL. If the Panthers had a top 10 quarterback and established receivers you would see more passing. Wilkes is working with the tools in his toolbox.
  16. In the NFL you have little room for error each week. Wilkes is playing with the personnel on the roster getting pretty near maximum efficiency.
