I completely agree. The vitriol towards him started because he "blocked" the greatest practice squader in NFL history in Stephan Hill, then the punt returns came and he failed at that, but who didn't see it coming from a possession receiver asked to return freaking punts. I don't think he will make the team, but I sure as heck am not pulling against him. Hope if he doesn't make it here, he catches on somewhere.

CBS' Prisco hates the pick & SB Nation's Kadar, lukewarm

I said before, I love the pick, but hate the spot. I think we could have bent someone like the Saints, Jags, or Titans over so they could get the combine MVP in Breshad Perriman. If we had moved back into the top of the second round, we still get Shaq but we get another pick that we can bundle to move up to assure ourselves of Getting Jake Fisher who would be an amazing fit for us here. We still may move up, and if we end up with Shaq and Fisher in the first 2 rounds, I'll be very happy, but I'd be more sure if we had moved back a bit. That said, remember, last year it was said that KB was a 2nd round talent and we "reached" for him. It wasn't until we started seeing his physical tools and his real 40 time that we really took notice and then how he performed took all the doubt about where he "should" have been drafted out of the question. Also, understand, the drop from KB to Marquise lee was significant in the draft, the drop off from Devin Smith to Tyler Lockett IMO was not so huge, so thats why not reaching for a receiver was not necessarily smart move to me. BPA value just did not match any true position of need yesterday, on to a new day. -
I do hate the Devon smith pick, but if he is our pick, by Friday morning I'll be all on board, he would be one of us then.

I'm not really happy with a smith pick because I don't like to get a guy in the first round who I think is mostly a gimmick speedster and special teams guy. Shane Ray or one of the available OT's woulda been preferred.

Thank god David Newton isn't the gm.

If we don't go RB early (Gurley or Gordon), I want John Crockett Late. He's not the most sure handed receiver, but I really think he can come in and do what Alfred Morris does for Washington. hard runner, doesn't go down easily, just a hard nosed guy, then sub him out on 3rd downs with Fozzy and you got a decent post-stewart tandem.

Only thing I'll say in regards to this is I hope hardy realizes how much he fuged up and threw his team mates in carolina into a bad situation because he put himself in a stupid situation. We embraced his Kraken identity as a fanbase, but I don't think other teams in the NFL will take to it as well as we did.

After seeing what they did to Dez, or atleast the claims Dez made about them withholding information they knew about before they drafted him, he probably wants nothing to do with them given the history he has. Me thinks there are more skeletons in his closet than the ones we know about.

The chosen one is returning to the NFL
Carolina Cajun replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Honestly, I would love to see him succeed in the NFL, it's not his fault the Media turns him into a circus. Fact is, he is a very hard worker and a good leader, his issue is that he's just not a good QB. Honestly, it's MUUUCH easier for me to watch someone like Manziel bomb out than The Golden Calf of Bristol because atleast it's easy to pull for a person who's a good person. Aside from the fact that the NFL will benefit from the Jersey sales, as much as people hate it, Goodell is celebrating because this can take some of the eye off of the Ray Rice, Greg Hardy, Ray Macdonald, and Adrien Peterson situations. If you don't think Goodell wants a "golden boy" to point to to show off his league after the crap that happened last year, you're crazy. -
Voth talks up Melvin Gordon in the 1st
Carolina Cajun replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I doubt it too, in fact, I'm on board with him in the second, he's my second favorite runner in the draft. I was just trying to make a joke that might not have hit the mark. -

First round pick - Gurley Second round pick - Gordon Third round pick - Duke Johnson 4th round - Tevin Coleman The rest go to Linebackers and QB's converted to WR's. Somewhere Hurney's manhood just pushed Mars 10 miles further from the sun. -
Still too much for this under talented diva. Can't wait till he get's bounced from the league.

Awesome as usual Em, Love your breakdowns all the time. That said, the only missing thing I saw was the lack of a RB in the draft. I really think we're gonna get someone to groom. Also, as for Darren Reaves, I know you were HUGE on him last year, do you still like his potential in the near future or did his performance last year when given a chance kind of damper your expectations?- 32 replies

He could have a Charles Woodson type effect on our team. Remember, 2010 Woodson was 34, this year peanut will be 34. Both are strong leaders and possess similar qualities. I really think he could be a great short term solution on the outside, move bene inside and give us a really decent 1-2-3 corner combo.

I'll never get it, how can the saints, who imploded last season and had one of the worst offseasons in NFL history can be considered anything but a cellar dweller. I guess Brees will throw to Brees, who will also block for Brees. Brees is also listed as their starting punter, kicker, DE, SS, and return man. I expect them to be no better than 6-10 next year.

RUMOR: Panthers looking to move up to 16-20th pick
Carolina Cajun replied to @bobbyagnese's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd even say, if he's as good as jones, I'd be furious, far to many holes in the near future to waste all the draft on one player. Also, no one will believe me, but this free agent receiver market has shown what the future holds, mark my words, receiver value is declining as drafts get deeper and deeper with day 1 starters at receiver. What happened with the running back market is soon coming to the wideout market, and guys will look back a drafting a receiver in the top 5-10 as ridiculous picks. -
RUMOR: Panthers looking to move up to 16-20th pick
Carolina Cajun replied to @bobbyagnese's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is what I thought about too when I saw this. If there's 16-19 legit first round talents, and we're considering moving into the 16-19 range, I think there's something to the fact that g-man might really want his first round talent. I've said that I think he'll move up in the second, but I think this is a legit possibility as well depending on what talent drops. -
Farewell Denarius, may your mythical madden esque numbers never cease in the the minds of those who desperately wanted you here.

If Jimmy Graham were still in the division, sure. With him gone, no need to waste such a high pick IMO.
