  1. People on twitter are very upset we didn't trade for Deebo. here's my thing. Deebo has looked increasingly worse the last two seasons and further his play style does not lend itself to longterm success: risk of injury and relied a lot on pure athelticism > technique. Further I'm wary of all players out of that SF offense. Second, Deebo would have demanded a new contract if he came here. He went to Washington for one year to boost his stock, try to win a superbowl and hopefully get a contract with someone else next year. He's not playing the Dionte game with us
  2. To me if you draft either of these guys it's a bet on your ability to develop them. So who is our d-line coach? I'm embarrassed to say I didn't know off the top of my head because normally that would be second nature to me (the last few years have really hurt my fandom lol) Todd Wash- ok let's dig into him a bit more From the Panthers website: Todd Wash is in his second season as defensive line coach for the Carolina Panthers. Before joining the team, he held the same position with the Detroit Lions during 2021 and 2022 seasons. Wash brings 29 years of coaching experience, including 18 seasons in the NFL, to this staff. But going back further he was the defensive coordinator in Jacksonville from 2016-2020. THAT gets me more excited as those were some good defenses back then. I understand the risk of picking a guy at 8 like Shemar but the truth is you can't find his type of talent elsewhere in the draft, usually not even outside the top 15. I'm fine with swinging for the fences.
  3. he generated a lot of pressures but your point overall still is prudent
  4. Oh yea he's A+ in terms of leadership and off the field stuff. the guy you want on your roster. Like I said in another thread, it's an easy pick if you think he can be a full time edge
  5. He'd be a good pick in the third or fourth round for sure. I'm very hopeful we can walk away from this draft with an EDGE - DT - LB and either TE/S all in the first four rounds
  6. Again if you think Jalon Walker can play full time edge he is 100% worth the pick at 8. If you're drafting him to play a hybrid role I wouldn't do that at 8. Simple.
  7. if they view walker as an edge then def him. I'm not entirely sold on Tet but if they think he can be a true number one I'd be fine with that as well. I continue to pray by some miracle Mason Graham falls to us
  8. I think he may be the best hire for the David Tepper tenure
  9. that would be incredible if dallas traded up to take jeanty lmao
  10. Idk reading the tea leaves it sounds very much like they plan on drafting defense with the first pick
  11. without future projection there is no way AT wasn't one of the top 50 WRs in the league last year
  12. Matt Miller is an idiot and he actually has a biased against the Panthers I really wish we would stop linking his stuff here Jordan Reid works for ESPN and is a much better draft analyst and actually writes insightful stuff about our team/knows his poo
  13. I think we need to come away with three maybe four Edge NT could use another 3-4 end so DT/EDGE hybrid
  14. before the senior bowl it was Mike Green but that ship has long sailed
  15. if Graham, T-Mac and Jalon Walker are all gone I'd be tempted
  16. I respect the specialJuan's commitment to refusing to learn how to embed twitter posts
  17. I view things similarly to you in that if I had my wish for *realistic* guys at 8 would be rn 1- Graham 2- Jalon walker 3- Tet McMillan 4- James Pierce
  18. Travis both scares and intrigues me. He definitely is no this home run selection everyone is making him out to be IMO
  19. there are questions about Capbell's ability to play Tackle in the league but Dane Brugler seems like he thinks he can play tackle so that's good enough for me. But the point is he is not Joe Alt. My thing is if we draft him you're almost betting against either Motor or Ickey not to work out. With so many other needs on this team I just can't justify taking him at that pick, esp considering he isn't a sure fire thing
  20. Eddy is an average nfl kicker, usually pretty accurate within 50 but he's not special. IMO you only pay special kickers
