  1. ....and now Jaycee's deal looks like a steal. Been exactly one week. Imagine what it will look like after next offseason. Pay your good players to stay. Their deals always look better a year or two later. Don't overpay for average talent. But blue chip talent? pay.
  2. I think the plan is to see if a top talent falls to 8: graham, hunter or carter (unlikely) If and when that doesn't happen I could see us trading back for a team desperate for O-line help and taking Golden and I'd be very happy with that plan
  3. I don't think he makes it to 8 but he'd be the easy choice if he was there whether you view him as a WR or a CB.
  4. 49ers may be in a full scale reset mode soon, i don't think he's going to cost as much as you guys think
  5. Seattle only getting a third for Geno makes me hopeful DK wouldn't cost too much for us
  6. very fair argument here, he has a lot of the makings of a FA bust
  7. the more I think about this the less enthusiastic I am about it. I would much rather spend money on the defensive line and then get a second tier free agent rather than make our big splash on a safety. In an ideal world we end up with an edge (chase young or harold landry), pass rushing 3-4 end (maybe milton williams or allen) and a true NT as our three big splashes. Sign a second tier safety prospect and then use our second or third rounder on a safety.
  8. Milton Williams would be worth it, I'm not sure spending big money on safety is the move, albeit are safety room clearly needs work (I think we have one safety on the roster currently)
  9. People on twitter are very upset we didn't trade for Deebo. here's my thing. Deebo has looked increasingly worse the last two seasons and further his play style does not lend itself to longterm success: risk of injury and relied a lot on pure athelticism > technique. Further I'm wary of all players out of that SF offense. Second, Deebo would have demanded a new contract if he came here. He went to Washington for one year to boost his stock, try to win a superbowl and hopefully get a contract with someone else next year. He's not playing the Dionte game with us
  10. To me if you draft either of these guys it's a bet on your ability to develop them. So who is our d-line coach? I'm embarrassed to say I didn't know off the top of my head because normally that would be second nature to me (the last few years have really hurt my fandom lol) Todd Wash- ok let's dig into him a bit more From the Panthers website: Todd Wash is in his second season as defensive line coach for the Carolina Panthers. Before joining the team, he held the same position with the Detroit Lions during 2021 and 2022 seasons. Wash brings 29 years of coaching experience, including 18 seasons in the NFL, to this staff. But going back further he was the defensive coordinator in Jacksonville from 2016-2020. THAT gets me more excited as those were some good defenses back then. I understand the risk of picking a guy at 8 like Shemar but the truth is you can't find his type of talent elsewhere in the draft, usually not even outside the top 15. I'm fine with swinging for the fences.
  11. he generated a lot of pressures but your point overall still is prudent
  12. Oh yea he's A+ in terms of leadership and off the field stuff. the guy you want on your roster. Like I said in another thread, it's an easy pick if you think he can be a full time edge
  13. He'd be a good pick in the third or fourth round for sure. I'm very hopeful we can walk away from this draft with an EDGE - DT - LB and either TE/S all in the first four rounds
  14. Again if you think Jalon Walker can play full time edge he is 100% worth the pick at 8. If you're drafting him to play a hybrid role I wouldn't do that at 8. Simple.
  15. if they view walker as an edge then def him. I'm not entirely sold on Tet but if they think he can be a true number one I'd be fine with that as well. I continue to pray by some miracle Mason Graham falls to us
  16. I think he may be the best hire for the David Tepper tenure
  17. that would be incredible if dallas traded up to take jeanty lmao
  18. Idk reading the tea leaves it sounds very much like they plan on drafting defense with the first pick
  19. without future projection there is no way AT wasn't one of the top 50 WRs in the league last year
  20. Matt Miller is an idiot and he actually has a biased against the Panthers I really wish we would stop linking his stuff here Jordan Reid works for ESPN and is a much better draft analyst and actually writes insightful stuff about our team/knows his poo
