Maybe should of said no one was seriously thinking the Panthers would take him a 8. Especially with bigger needs like at the time.
-
Horn was on no one’s radar, I never even hear of him till he was drafted, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we draft another CB, Safety or DL.

I think I got a chubby thinking about this line...

LoL, if he needs a good line to be good he is a terrible 3rd overall pick. -

I want Darnold to start for the sole reason just to shut up Darnold fans that all he needs is a good line to be good. -
Why does this coach hate offense?
-
Guy is literally one of the worst homers. Willing to settle for Darnold. That is how bad this fanbase has fallen.
-
LoL. You responds is all I needed. You are pathetic.
-
You are the quintessential blind homer. But you do you. But, since you are absolutely convinced that all Darnold needs is a line to be good. I have a question: Why does he need a good line in order to be good. Doesn’t a good QB rise above the weaknesses that his team has? Rodgers, Brady, Wilson and now Burrow have been behind some really bad lines but still got their teams to the playoffs or Super Bowl. Brady had one of the worst lines in his career in 2015 and still almost won against a Broncos defensive onslaught. As I said before. If Darnold was any good he wouldn’t need everything to be perfect. He’d be good in spite of the imperfections.
-
I just don’t see it man. As was said above he had a good line in college and he was still a turnover machine. If he somehow improves with a good line and realizes his potential it would be the first time I ever saw anything like that happen. Darnold is who he is. If he needs everything to be perfect for him to play well then he isn’t very good. Play well despite the deficiencies of your team and then I’ll be impressed.

I’ll take any of those over Pickett. He has too many red flags. -

Think Howell will be there in the second round? -
I agree. Always through it weird to pay a player a lot of money that may or may not get the ball thrown to him any given game. Let’s say the Team you are facing has a lockdown CB and eliminated that expensive WR. You just paid him a lot of money to do nothing.

ELLIS L. WILLIAMS Of the OBSERVER on Jimmy G
TLGPanthersFan replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Unfortunately he isn’t clutch when it matters and is most important. Last year and the Super Bowl. What are you talking about game winning playoff drives? He has only been the the playoffs twice. In 2019 and 2021. They blew out every team in 2019 because of their defense and running game(75 passing yards NFC Championship). In 2021 He didn’t have to do much due to their defense balling and Deebo. Every time he has a chance for a game winning drive or tying drive he failed. Interception in 2019 Super Bowl. Interception in 2021 NFC Championship. Also if Jimmy is so good why are the 49ers wanting to get rid of him and traded a ton of assets to move up. You don’t do that for an elite player. You do that for a player that you know can’t win you a super bowl. Doesn’t seem right for a player that is supposedly as elite as you people think he is. You Jimmy fans are weird. -

Dude has been a pathetic Jimmy G stan on every post about him. People like him are the reason we ended up with Bridgewater. Saw his stats on another team and thought it would translate to this team. 75 yards in the NFC championship and 2 games losing interceptions in the post seasons is all I gotta see to convince me Jimmy G isn’t clutch and is carried by his team. -
Didn’t Chinn struggle in coverage last year?

Okay that was funny.

I really really hope they can capture some magic when they enter the playoffs. This season has been fun and another early to mid-round exit would be disappointing. But I am a Carolina sports fan so I am used to it. -

If we get Jimmy G-string or Baker Mayfold I hope the team is smart enough to make either a one year deal. -
After Harbaugh left he fell apart. He wasn’t that good to begin with. He, infamously, couldn’t read defenses well and was a single read QB. Kap had the perfect situation with the coach and team, kinda like Jimmy G., to make the most of what he was and to hide his weaknesses. If he wants to be back in the NFL he may have to settle for a backup role.
