They want to go to the playoffs next season. So it can’t be Darnold. Also, no. I don’t think a new coaching staff can “fix” Darnold. He is unfixable.
-
It was exactly 4 games in 2022, while in 2021 it was 3.
-
Chemistry doesn’t mean anything. He will still turnover the ball like crazy.
-
That is a pitiful excuse. The type of offense means nothing. Any offense he runs will he hampered by him. He is a bad QB. B.A.D. But you Darnold stans still think he is good for some damn reason. Also, Tannehill sucks.
-
It is amazing bad players continue to have fans despite the overwhelming proof they are bad.
-
I don’t think you and me were watching the same games. Darnold did not look better. He was obviously being held in check because the coaching staff knew he was a liability. Tons of checkdowns and running so he did have to process much. Just his first read and go. The coaching staff tried to limit Darnold as much as they could. Then the Tampa and Saints games happened and the real Darnold was should. People need to let Darnold go he is a bad QB. That is proven. That is fact.
-
We all know Darnold is only good for 4ish games before he regresses, happened last year as well as 2021. A suitable backup but I think he would make a terrible bridge QB. He can’t play all 17 games. He just can’t. Bad Darnold will come out. If Reich wants to try to make the playoffs in 2023 Darnold can’t be a bridge. At the most a backup to the rookie, who will be the backup to the actual bridge QB. Yeah, I’d rather the rookie, or Corral, play than Sam Darnold if the Bridge got hurt.
-
If he was a franchise QB I think he would have still been with the Raiders.
-
With their Head Coach and no QB it could happen.
-
We are never gonna have another exciting person at the QB position again are we. It is just gonna continue to be boring retread vet after boring retread vet. I am so tired of it. Thanks for nothing Wilks.

I don’t see how McDaniels shackled Carr since most of the stuff I have seen people have against Carr were complaints before McDaniels was hired.
-
I think they are both equal. Meaning they both have problems that negatively impact the teams chance for success. Jones, he needs Barkley to succeed. Carr, he is a QB from another age of the NFL.
-
Maybe but Carr’s ceiling is Cousins Vikings. I don’t want to be Cousins Vikings, and IMO, Cousins is better than Carr. Car has fumbling problems. He takes too many sacks and is a statue in the pocket. He doesn’t go off script. At. All. He throws interceptions at the worst possible time. He has bad-day-to-have-a-bad-game syndrome. If Panthers get him they have to realize they are not getting a QB that will win them a Super Bowl. But maybe the Panthers FO only cares about getting to the Playoffs.
-
I just hope Reich learned from Wentz. Care can’t be fixed and he definitely can’t be changed. He is who he is and I hope that smarter minds realize what they are getting if we sign Carr.
-
Well so much for them not being interested. This makes me nervous. Carr is NOT the QB to make this team successful. Cousins Vikings is the ceiling for him and we all know how that turns out every year.

nothing really to see here....

Unfortunately trying is the only thing they can do. People who don’t want to trade up are gonna have to get used to the idea it may happen. Nots saying it will. It may. -

Good thing you are not the GM. Your fear of actually trying to get a franchise QB would have us in continued QB purgatory. -
Calling Minshew a mentor is hilarious.
-
As much as I liked the staff, which I am keeping my expectations in check until they actually coach a game. I will keep my expectations for the panthers the same as last offseason/season…low.

I might be reading too much into this but...

Carr definitely isn’t the QB they are looking for. A statue in the pocket and takes a ton or sacks and fumbles a lot. If the play breaks down he just scrambles but not to extend the play but to throw the ball away. Also he may have good stats but they don’t tell the story of him throwing terrible INTs in a crucial game. He can have a lot of brain fart moments. TLDR: Carr doesn't fit this staff or team. -
As was said on The Roar. Our ceiling with Carr is the Cousins Vikings. I have higher hopes and aspirations for this team then just making the playoffs and then getting beat by a team that can exploit Carrs weaknesses. Like what happens every time the Vikings make the playoffs.

Todd McShay seems to really like Anthony Richardson

Maybe, maybe not. -

People aren’t thinking Cam they are thinking Josh Allen who, like Richardson, had accuracy issues. -
I was gonna post a screaming gif but of course I am in an area where I have a bad connection. You get the picture.

My guess is a lot of our FA money will be spent on extending Bozeman and Burns. Hopefully we can get a WR and TE, maybe a LB as well.
