  1. Exactly. The average NFL rb is 213 lbs and they take way more hits than whichever qb we take. I hope. Lol
  2. Thats silly though. Most injuries are flukes or bad luck. Find me statistics that say bigger qbs have had less injuries than smaller ones. Brees had a relatively healthy career. So has kyler for the most part. What about some big qbs like Cam or Luck? There very well may be statistics aggreeing with this sentiment that smaller equals injured more but I haven't found it.
  3. It seems like such a weird thing as a panthers fan to say bpa thats not a qb or lt. Its a pretty nice feeling.
  4. Exactly, has anyone actually made comparisons statistically? Most injuries seem to be flukes. Is it actually statistically more likely for a lighter qb to get injured more often than a heavier one?
  5. Imagine that, the people here who are set on Stroud thought Young looked bad. They were going to no matter what. Im good with either and today cemented thar for me. None of us have saw nearly as much of them as our coaches and scouts have. I feel comfortable with whoever they pick. I slightly lean Stroud but if Young was a couple inches taller he would be the clear #1 so it makes me wonder if we are overrating or underrating size. How many injuries are specifically related to size and how many are flukes due to landing wrong etc
  6. You cant always find everything you want in one offseason. He brings a reliable target who is a proven experienced player to an inexperienced position group.
  7. Other than saying theyre both tall, i dont think tmj and chark have much else at all in common.
  8. Yea lots of needs overall but i think they have more of a 2 year plan to try to fill everything. I think this draft they will get a couple defensive players but probably try to add as much to the offense as they can so the rookie qb has weapons and isnt hung out to dry.
  9. I think it just depends on how the draft goes. They are trying to set themselves up where they have more options to take BPA. Qb at 1 and a WR are the only HAVE TOs now in the draft I'd say even though there are definitely posistions im sure they want to draft. They will just wait and see how the board falls.
  10. In the words of the great Moose. Chicago is where wide receivers go to die. We loved you while you were hear DJ even though you showed a lack of effort and lazy routes sometimes, you were the best receiver we've had in a long time. Unfortunately for him, a franchise qb is a lot harder to find then a good number 1/ great #2 wr.
  11. New system needs rbs that are dual threat.
  12. This is a weak fa class and you have to add what you can, he is big, fast, and he did have over 1000 yards and 8 tds a few years ago in jax. If he could stay healthy for us he would definitely be the best wr on our roster by a decent margin. Take that however you want.
  13. This was my #1 wr in free agency and I couldnt believe we hadnt heard any mention about him from the team till now. After the Thielen visit i was starting to lose hope.
  14. Probably Parris but i keep hoping they at least talk to Chark. I prefer him but im ok with either.
  15. I prefer Chark anyways even though I never really hear him mentioned.
  16. Do you understand there is a salary cap? The only aspect you can throw your money around with is coaching and Tepper has said as much.
  17. You cant fill all holes on a team in one offseason. Sometimes you have to use a bandaid for a season or two.
  18. This year i think the goal is to strive for .500 and show consistent improvement. (We never saw any improvement under the previous regime). Their goal is to get the systems and schemes in place and get as many pieces in place as they can starting with the biggest one, qb. See who fits in these schemes and who doesnt and in year two they are looking to have a huge amount of cap to fill the remaining holes and the goal year 2 will be playoffs. Thats the way i see it anyways.
  19. I think he is a better improviser and playmaker when things break down.
  20. Who? 2 years 10m is pretty cheap for a backup qb.
  21. Hes not here to start. He's here to help show the rookie starter a professional routine, diet, regimen, etc. They are trying like crazy to trade Corral. We literally had to have another qb on the roster and you really like to have a vet qb in the qb room to pair up with a rookie. Dalton wasnt signed for anything on the field really barring disaster.
  22. People mad about this move dont understand football.
  23. The panthers had to sign an experienced qb regardless of if they ever start or not. This doesnt make it any more likely they are going to draft AR. This was a required move for any rookie. If anything to me it makes it less likely its AR because Dalton is clearly more of a veteran backup than a bridge.
  24. Thats what coaches are for. Try to help coach out the bad habits and try to set them up in a way where the playcalling boosts their strengths.
