Ellis Williams Report Card from Sunday
Luciu5 replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
The article is about week 3, a game we won. I get your point, but I think the grading is supposed to be more "in a vacuum" than you are making it. -
See Panthers 2021 as a counter example.
-
I saw that like 2 mins after reading this thread.
-
I dont' think anyone is really suggesting. I think it's more predicting that's what we do.
-
Waste of time thinking about this question or discussing it imo. Do we have a choice? So what difference does it make?
-
It's actually 3, but for real tho, how many do you want him to post? You are pretty good at moving goal posts. I mean you asked for evidence, the guy provided. I guarantee he could provide many more, but damn. It's funny though, you ask for "what hate" and dude links to one of your own posts. Ever heard the phrase self-own?

This thread should not have any posts, let alone six pages.

Offense need to start playing. -
Only thing that makes me skeptical is Moore stayed here. Djax stayed here. I'm liking Phil Snow less and less, but I don't think there is even enough circumstantial proof that there is any truth in this at this point. It definitely makes a lot of sense, but I can't believe some random twitter person without something that actually backs it up. I'm not that dumb. This could be all fanfic. No way to know and I'm not easily duped.

Barkley isn't really the same as Chubb though. I think he may be a back where quickness on defense might be an advantage. Idk looking for something positive to say. Any hope I had for this year is diminishing. Football is much less interesting when the outcome is determined by week 2.

When Baker looks off of Moore, there isn't anyone in his face. And even at the point where he threw the ball, he could have climbed the pocket. I'm not even certain what he saw on the right side that he was throwing at. I get Moore was 1 vs 2, but he should have waited until after Moore's cut or gone back to him after looking right.

I love a massive bust.

OP is 100% correct. Our biggest problem was 1st half Baker. There were other problems, but if Baker did more than go 3 and out for practically a full 30 minutes, the outcome of this game would have been much different. All the other problems combined, including the defense and the coaching, would not have lost us the game if Baker was competent in the first half. Even just one more drive.

Matt Rhule disappointed, not discouraged by opening loss

So any coach we win against, bet on them being fired by the end of the season? -
Pic tells it all. Better fix that o line issue

This is a bad protection call. Most likely the line slid the wrong way. I'd like to think the blitz was disguised. -
He dug them out of a hole of his own doing. (depends on how much weight you put on Baker for the muffed snaps and the batted passes)

Mosby elevated just to be inactive?

I always root for playoff positioning. Which means when it's a AFC/NFC game, I root for the AFC team.

You can't control who you play. What you are asking though is pretty much impossible. You would also have to take 3 most dominant games out from all the other teams to do a ranking. Were those 3 games our best defensive performances though? I'm not certain on that either. We did have some good defensive games against the Eagles, Falcons, Cardinals, and Saints(2nd game) as well (when just looking at the score...I'm not diving that deep here).

Cleveland's run preferences vs our defense's strengths and weaknesses
Luciu5 replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
You are misremembering. Their RB was held to 45 yards. The QB had less than 4 yards per carry, which is awful for a QB. Hurts only had 30 yards on the ground. The biggest thing with him was at the goal line. And if I'm remembering right, both of his touchdowns on the ground, he was gifted with short fields. Like really short starting on our 20 fields. With a different QB, we would have dominated that game. I mean seriously, we gave away the ball 3 times and they only put up 21 points. TLDR stuff below. I don't blame anyone if you stop reading here because I'm just venting now. I tell you, Darnold was the biggest mistake. Just looking back at the season, and specifically Darnold's performances, we would have been 7-1 going into November with just a little bit better of a QB. Last season was frustrating. The huddle doesn't blame QB play as much as it should, imho. Our defense is fine and I think most people here are morons for not understanding that. They aren't #2 but they aren't bottom of the league either. Sam single-handedly lost us games against the Eagles, Vikings, Giants, and Patriots. Just average QB play would have had us 9-8 last year. I mean how do you get two defensive TD's and STILL lose??? Then Cam came home and was mediocre at best. We were not good enough to compete with the SB contenders, but damn all the wildcard teams could have been beaten. It would have been the step in the right direction that this fanbase needed to see. But those choose muthafuggin Sam Darnold.
