I think we gotta roll with Dave. He’s had his head scratchers, but I think that is him trying to limit the mistakes with Bryce. We can be aggressive and trust his gut we are usually in a good place. now on to the problem. Bryce. Unfortunately we have to take the 5th year on Bryce. We can’t afford to go into the season with dalton as back up though. I think we need a vet that can threaten him, that fits well with the scheme. And then draft a QB. I really hope we don’t offer Bryce a long term deal though, but this team is a few pieces away from being really good and QB is one of them. hopefully we can retain Evero. I think he’s shown us what he can do when he has the personnel I like. We get him a good linebacker that can assist in the run game plus a good pass rushing DE and we have a top 10 defense. LB, DE, QB and OL should be our top priorities moving forward. But to be quite honest I’m hopeful. I just don’t know what the heck Bryce is. And unfortunately he hasn’t shown much up until this season, and even still I feel he is mediocre at best. But if you build the right roster around him we may could still make a push. but damnit a drake maye style guys sets us over the top and back in contender conversations

When he trusts his instincts the play is usually there. When he waters it down for Bryce is when we get pissed lol

This is what I’m saying, I somewhat get it. Because he didn’t want to give the ball back to the Rams. The comeback route to leggette was open but of course Bryce over throws bc he’s launching from 3 foot off the ground to grown men. and then Bryce getting stepped on again just standing still in the pocket on the sack. a timeout after the Rico run was the right move. But I see Dave’s thinking, again playing to limit mistakes and end on a FG. You’d like to see some aggression though, against a team like the rams. If they give you openings you take them you can’t play passive.

I agree with this. I think he has the makings of being a good head coach. I’d like to see us bring an OC with Head coach experience. And Dave lets go of his play calling duties for the most part. His input will still be valid, but he just doesn’t have that killer instinct. To be fair though, there is no telling how many good plays he’s called in crucial moments that weren’t executed bc lil ole Bryce cant muster up the strength to get the ball accurate and on time.

Idk I’m torn on Dave. I think he tries to hard to be a people pleaser. I want a coach with a Killer instinct. bryce is the problem. I don’t think you can pin as much on Dave as you can on Bryce and his limitations. The San Fran game was on Dave a bit more though, bc the run game was successful per carry.

To be fair, If and only if, he has finally learned from his mistakes and was man enough to admit he dropped the ball by not letting Rico spin. Then I am ok. At least he acknowledged his shortcomings and recognizes the problems that’s half the battle. so as mad as I am bc we could have beat them on the road on Monday night football just by sticking to what we do best. I can let this one go for now Dave. Do better or we’re calling for you and Bryce to find a new gig he better trust his run game against the rams. There isn’t anything to restart. I’m about out on Dave too after the most atrocious play calling I’ve witnessed in pro ball last night. But Bryce is and has always been the issue. You replace him with even a middling QB we are play off bound and leading then division. The roster as a whole Dan has done a pretty good job with. We go heavy on Defense with LB, and Edge guys, and then draft QB with every single pick until we find the guy to get us there

This all day long. Average 5 yards a carry and you don’t run it? after making your team respectable running the ball. After earning the respect last week passing the ball. After 3 turnovers two of which in the red zone. Not going for it on 4th down at your 40 knowing their qb is rattled. completely abandoning the run game. Dave beat us all by himself. Bryce just assisted, like Steph curry.

the worst part about this game is the defense has played well. Dave and Bryce just can’t get out of their own way

That doesn’t change the fact that his play calling is awful. he’s running when he needs to pass and passing when he needs to run
