I'm going to make a very speculative conclusion that the Panther's coaching staff (and Texans too for that matter) is going to make a much better decision than I ever could. I will then support and root for their pick.

By tape do you mean highlights? Because i watched complete games and he was complete crap. Maybe he is the ultimate qb mind in the ultimate qb body that only completes 53.8% of his passes. Was he day dreaming out there or something?

I think we need wr, te, edge, and cb and will look from someone to drop to us at 39. Take best available that can contribute year one.

I doubt whether he actually scored low and whether teams will get too caught up in the test. It is merely a component of the player. Tape being the most important.

Yes. His 2022 Bama team was defined by poor oline pass blocking, poor rb blitz pickups, and mediocre receivers. This would be a better question if he came out in '21 with a much better oline and wr's. Essentially '21 Bama = '22 Ohio State so the better question is whether CJ would be a no. 1 prospect if he had not attended OSU. Both inquiries are off though as they both distanced themselves from the rest of the field.

No but we know they own the information and can leak it like Young did. Why didn't they leak high S2 scores? Neither of them showed particular decision making during games (well, not in his second year for Levis--he was much better with a decent line). Really their college coaches didn't come out and say they were idiots? Could their college coaches be puffing them up? That's never been done before by a college coach. They always tell the media absolutely what they think of their former player.

I questioned McCown pick as qb coach, but this guy looks worse. Zero coaching experience. At least McCown recently played. I agree that we are getting too wrapped up in qb coach and qb coach candidate opinions. Obviously this staff feels like the other coaches history can make up for a qb with 0 experience.

We have an experienced intelligent staff. They won't be fooled by the shiny toy and will realize that these two factors carry very little weight. Game film and the S2 will be better predictors and they will lead them to Stroud or Young.

I'm worried Stroud ends up being Jared Goff and Young ends up being Tua. If I had to make a choice, i would love to leave it up to a brain trust of Frank Reich and company. Don't care that Young didn't throw at the combine or weigh in at his pro day. He was just following his agent's advice and doing what is best for him. You think AR is running at the combine if he knows he actually is a 4.7 guy?

Either of those UGA players at 39 would be great. I doubt they are both there.

That is not how the S2 Cognition Test works. You are thinking more along the lines of the Wonderlic, which I would agree is pretty worthless. S2 is a good indicator of NFL success. If Young is more than slightly ahead of Stroud, he should be the pick. I have heard from more than one scout that CJ Stroud comp is Jared Goff. Did we just mortgage our future for Jared Goff? The other thing going around the talk shows is that the demand for that no. 1 pick was greatly exaggerated and the Colts told the Bears they didn't feel that strongly about any of the qb's. Houston, Indy, Vegas, all content to stay put.

This is completely wrong and a really crappy twisting of his words by a Charlotte rag. If he was afraid of competition why would he come to Ole Miss and play Bama every year with a team with less talent that Florida. Corral is 6'2" 205 pounds. How is that remotely the same concerns as Young.

Cam had66.1% completion percentage with 30 td's and 7 ints and 1473 yds rushing. AR had 53.8% completion percentage with 17td's and 9 ints and 654 yds rushing. Both may have been projects but AR is a much bigger and more difficult project. Cam took over games all by himself and dominated in college. AR looked good against Utah and then horrible when it really counted. Cam's AU was much better than AR's UF but still. Not remotely close as candidates.
