McCall Should’ve Gotten a Jersey on Sunday
Eazy-E replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
Or you know, sign an actual DT who knows the NFL and can help stop the run. There are at least 5+ guys on their couches right now that would be immediate upgrades to our interior line. -
Matt Rhule has still not learned how to win close games.
Eazy-E replied to Snake's topic in Carolina Panthers
Rhule got tricked into calling a timeout towards the end of the half when the Browns looked like they were going for it on 4th down. Stefanski laughed and then trotted his kicker out there. Even the guys in the booth were clowning on Rhule for it. The guy is a dumbass who still has no idea what he’s doing. -
We could do that fan controlled football league poo and it would be more successful than Rhule’s dumb ass.

Seriously, how many scoreless 3rd quarters have we seen under Matt Rhule? How does a team come out so flat after halftime? Didn't really see this mentioned much but it was one of the most glaring takeaways to me after the game.

The Run D Problem: Scheme, Personnel, or Both??
Eazy-E replied to Jay Roosevelt's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lets not forget our DT depth consists of a 6th, 7th, and undrafted free agent. All with 2 or fewer years of experience. -
The Run D Problem: Scheme, Personnel, or Both??
Eazy-E replied to Jay Roosevelt's topic in Carolina Panthers
With our personnel, our base defense should be a 3-4. It's been this way for years now. I don't know why we show so many 4 man fronts when it's pretty clear Burns isn't an every down 4-3 lineman. Before the season even started everyone with eyes knew our defensive line was our weakest unit on paper. We needed a legitimate nose tackle and defensive end yet sat on our hands all offseason. Ioannidis isn't a nose tackle and isn't great against the run. There were plenty of quality nose tackles on the market in free agency. We had the opportunity to sign Dunlap and Clowney who are both proven 4-3 ends and chose not to. What we saw defensively today was pretty much expected by everyone except our coaches/front office. -
Most collegiate kickers are terrible. Everyone once in a while one or two will actually get drafted. Like anything else in the draft, whether they succeed or not is a total crap shoot. Roberto Aguayo was drafted in the second round and was god awful. The Panthers drafted Harrison Butker in the seventh round and he performed better than Graham Gano in camp/preseason. Since this team has always been managed by a bunch of morons, They decided to keep Gano over Butker because veteran. Then they decided waste cap space with a fat contract for Gano who got injured and then released about a year and a half into a 4 year contract all while Butker became one of the best kickers in the league for Kansas City while on a rookie seventh rounder's salary. And people wonder why this Franchise sucks.

This turf fuging blows -
The major difference between the current Bills and the Cam era Panthers has much more to do with the management of the team than it does coaching. McDermott is a better overall coach compared to Rivera but Beane is lightyears better than Gettleman. Hurney fuging sucks as well but Gettleman was the GM during our obvious Superbowl window (2013-2017) The Panthers would have won a Super Bowl in spite of Rivera if Gettleman wasn't completely incompetent. Beane went out and got a proven WR in Diggs. Gettleman cut Steve Smith when we had jack poo at wide receiver without any plan to replace his production. Oh course Smith went on to tear it up with the Ravens until he blew out his achilles. He did the same thing with Josh Norman. He tried to replace pro bowl talent with draft picks when the team was/ should have been in "win now" mode. After Smith, Olsen was the only proven commodity Cam had to throw to during his prime in Carolina. He could have traded for Brandon Marshall in 2015 who had 1500 yards and 14 tds that year catching balls from Ryan Fitzpatrick. A proven receiver sure would have been nice to have in Super Bowl 50. Instead we were relying on Jerrico Cotchery. Oh and can't forgot about the offensive line like Gettleman did for his entire tenure here. How many rumors were there about Joe Thomas but we didn't want to give up multiple draft picks for him. Or giving a ridiculous sum of money to an injured turnstile Matt Khalil instead of trading for a proven LT like Duane Brown. Once again in 2017 we probably would have made some noise in the playoffs with capital invested into the offensive line and wide receivers. We would have beat the Saints if our starting receivers weren't fuging Kaelin clay and Devin Funchess. If you get lucky enough to land a franchise QB, you better go all in to try and win it all when you have the chance because that window can close in the blink of an eye.

So is this a Rhule move or Fitterer? Not quite sure what the dynamic is between them nowadays.
-
Dude really is trying to get you to believe that coaches don’t matter and it all on the players. Basically just said this roster sucks. But hey, doesn’t Rhule have final say over the roster? Lmao, what a clown.

Until this team under under Matt Rhule proves otherwise, we’re a 5 win team. Rhule has now picked a different starting QB for the third year in a row. Sorry if I’m not overly optimistic about Mayfield. I’d love to be proved wrong though.

JC Tretter was center for Bakers best season as a pro. Signing him would make way too much sense so it will never happen. Also don’t know how much truth there is to him being blackballed but it’s kind of crazy that he’s still a free agent in august.

Burns and Patches are they type of guys this team was missing. We don’t poo the bed every road game this past postseason with those two on the ice. Losing Vinny and TDA sucks, but if these new guys can stay healthy and age doesn’t catch up with Burns, we will be a better team both physically and more importantly, mentally.

No one is really trading players right now and won’t until we’re closer to free agency. If we want to try and offload any of our bad contracts we needed future draft picks and we didn’t have a first next year. Mitch wasn’t looking for more picks in this draft because they don’t help us in any way unless you want to increase the risk of losing Miles. If a team misses out on a key free agent they may be more inclined to take on a guy like Hayward with a future first and a few seconds included. Not a ton of future picks were moved in this draft and after a few of the coveted players were gone the big trades really died down. If we had a top 10 pick the return would have been much better. 12 teams passed on Duren and the value of pick 13 took a nose dive just like his draft position. Mitch got the player he wanted and created the possibility for future roster moves that wouldn’t be possible without this trade. I have no issues with the trade. Rehiring Clifford on the other hand, Ooh Wee Mayne.

Yeah I take back what o said like 2 posts before this. I no longer trust anyone wtf.

Williams was clearly who we wanted and better fits our timeline as he should be able to contribute right away. Duren is about as raw as Kai Jones. Getting Williams at 15 instead of 13 also saves us some cash that we will need to resign Miles and get a backup PG. I wanted Duren and Williams but understand we probably won’t be able to move a guy like Hayward until around Free agency time and we’re going to need picks to make it happen and we didn’t have a first next year. Not the greatest trade but it makes total sense and I still trust Mitch and what’s he’s trying to accomplish.
