  1. There's nothing die hard about my support for Bryce. It's a thing called logic. An undersized rookie QB was in an impossible situation last year. He also happened to play for my favorite team. Look around the league and how teams surround their young QBs with playmakers. The Bears, Texans, Bengals, Titans, Jaguars are all examples of how to build around your QB. The Panthers are the only ones to take weapons away from theirs. Also the scheme was old and outdated and changed multiple times. With a better supporting cast and a better scheme there was reason to believe Young could at least be a decent QB. Unfortunately he isn't and now we're all fuged for yet another season if that gets you bozos off then have at it, enjoy your Sundays!
  2. I mean go ahead and celebrate about being right that Young is dog sh*t and this team is going to suck for yet another season. What an amazing thing to be right about lol. Unfortunately it isn't going to make your Sundays anymore fun, sorry about that.
  3. Always heard Carolina was a great place to retire. Seems like that's all we do these days. Coaches and players alike
  4. Yea unfortunately I'm in the same boat. There's no more excuses after last year. I think he gets a few more games before the rug is pulled out from under him. You have to wonder just how much Canales is tied to Bryce. I'm sure he was hired to "fix" him or at least make him serviceable. I wonder if Canales even has the freedom to bench him. I have a feeling Tepper is still meddling behind the scenes
  5. We've been fortunate to have some great off ball LBers in our day. Morgan, Na'il Diggs, Sam Mills, Witherspoon, Beason, Davis, James Anderson, Kuechly, and Thompson. Shaq definitely belongs in that list albeit more towards the bottom of it
  6. There were people openly questioning whether this team could compete at a college level last season (some still do). The starters looking like they did against NFL back ups should have all of the doubters feeling like a little kid on Christmas morning.
  7. There's a reason it takes 2-3 seasons to judge a draft class. Still too early for last years class and it damn sure is still way too early for our most recent one.
  8. This is also what we said last year. Just take a quick peak around the NFL and see how many teams would you rather take our skill position players over theirs (WR, TE, RB). Just as much as the Panthers have yet to find a QB successor to Cam Newton they've also failed to learn how to build around a young QB because I'd trade with just about every team in the league except for maybe a small few.
  9. I live in Indiana and heard about the same but was hoping they didnt know what they were talking about. Turns out they did!
  10. There is definitely some truth to what you say but Bryce was not the main reason of discord within the offensive coaching staff. Everything was thrown together without a real clue or concrete plan in place including the selection of Young. I think our offense will be better just on the fact that they will be more aligned on what its going to take to be successful on offense with the players we have versus the "throw it at the wall and see if it sticks approach" we had last year. I dont think well be top 10 but at least watchable and in more games than we were last year forsure.
  11. Lmao. What about the fact that NONE of the coaches on offense had any connection between them when they were hired? Despite being an all star staff none of them ever really coached with one another and they all came from different football backgrounds. Could it be they just couldn't all get on the same page as to how to develop a rookie QB? Or what type of offensive philosophy/plays to run? Let's not continue to act like Bryce was in a good situation last year and he let the team down. The only way we were going to be successful on offense last season was if Bryce came in and played like a one man wrecking crew and that was not the type of player he was touted to be coming out of college. Those that think Stroud would have come onto this team with the lack of weapons and a depleted struggling oline with too many "cooks" in the kitchen and had the year he had last year with the Texans are kidding yourselves.
  12. I mean you kind of answered yourself. Panthers starters played last preseason and how much difference did it make? Still the worst team in football. Maybe preseason doesn't matter. If you're going to be terrible you're going to be terrible nothing about running vanilla schemes and half ass game plans in the preseason for 20 total plays is going to make any sort of difference
  13. Prayers up for Mr. Scot hoping everything works out in his favor
  14. He was frustrated he fell and didn't get more yardage. Wasn't a celebration.
  15. I feel like some of that is just poor communication from the oline overall. Not saying I haven't seen him whiff his share of pass pro but the times he has a guy lined up over him and he chooses to go after someone else tells me the oline isn't communicating the protections properly. They were also very poor at handling stunts
  16. He beat him in a head to head matchup. I think that would count as something he does better
  17. I've just never seen an oline look so confused before. They legit ll block the wrong people it's not even about poor technique or them getting overwhelmed from a physical standpoint. They legit just don't know who to block and let people lined up in front of them run right to the QB without even a hand on them I've never seen this happen so many times to an NFL offense it's ridiculous
  18. Honestly whoever can call out the protections and stop all these free runs to the QB. The amount of times it happened last year and the amount it's already happening in TC they have to know that it's a problem and something has to change, or whatever their plan is needs to start working ASAP or I doubt Bryce survives the season whether we want him to or not.
  19. Looks like it's a bit late but if you watch when he throws it he does throw it as he hits his break but seems to Aim it towards the pylon maybe that was the drill? Hard telling.
  20. Whoever is calling out the.protections is fuging up that's why. Whether it's Corbett or Bryce. That's a 5 man rush everyone should have a man and that's not at all what happens. Corbett tries to DT with the RG when he should be responsible for Josey blitzing. The LG should have the guy Ickey blocks and Ickey should have the guy on the end of the LoS. Same issues as last season so maybe it is Bryce. If I got sacked 62 times last year that would be the #1 thing I'd want to work on and master is the protection. The free runners to the QB has to stop I've never seen that happen to an NFL offense so many times before
  21. @mrcompletely11Listen to what you're saying. The preseason matters but not for predicting what a teams win/loss record will be and whether they will be a good team or not. It's for evaluating depth and getting certain looks at your team but for the most part it is extremely vanilla. You want to judge a 17 game season on 6 or 7 offensive series during 3 preseason games. Potato. That doesn't make any sense. Is it a 200 IQ prediction to predict that the 32/32 offense from last season might also suck this year? Yea it is quite possible but you aren't going to get that information from less than 4 quarters of play during 3 preseason games in which the game plans will be mostly vanilla.
  22. Unfortunately he's probably sacked by Josey if that were live. Oline still giving up a ton of pressure up tje middle. That will 100% kill this offense if it's a consistent issue like last year
  23. No one and I mean no one predicted we would be the worst team in the NFL. I didn't say people thought we'd be good after the preseason but absolutely no one thought we essentially traded away the #1 pick to Chicago until the first part of the season was over. And no you can't. Drawing conclusions from preseason games is moronic at best. You can argue that teams hiding things and not opening up the playbook/offense during the preseason is bad, that I will give you, but it still doesn't stop most teams from doing it and resting starters. Its even more apparent now with the 3 preseason games, there isnt a "dress rehersal" like there was in the past. Now teams just do w.e they want including not playing starters for more than a quarter in the first 2 games then sitting them all for the 3rd game. Also most teams in the NFL don't hit their stride until the first quarter of the season is over its always been like that. Some start slow and pick up momentum as the season goes on some start fast and fizzle out that's how it's always been and that's why the preseason is strictly for rounding out the bottom part of your roster and isn't a true litmus test as to how you'll perform the rest of the season.
  24. I mean what did I say that was incorrect? Even last year no one knew they were watching a 2-15 team during the offseason. Even though there were question marks and some worry over the preseason performances no one could have predicted we'd actually be the worst team in football. My point again is this, you cannot draw conclusions from training camp and preseason games there can be indicators certainly but nothing is set in stone until the real bullets actually start to fly
