  1. He was? We got 9 carries for 22 yards this year from him. How was he anything to Hubbard? But he didn’t and last time he tore his ACL it was November. Now it will be December, so if it’s bad, we basically will have gotten nothing for years 1 and 2 and he’ll be an even bigger injury risk the next time he steps on the field. It was a bad pick, especially considering the deep 2025 RB class and the number of RBs from Brooks’ draft class that have done better as day 3 picks.
  2. 2 years older but a valid point. XL is almost 24 here in his rookie year, not the age you should be working on fundamentals. Most young studs who go into the draft after their 3 college seasons are in year 3 at 24. They’ve already been molded. We tend to draft projects, older players and injured players and unfortunately we draft them where they’d go if they worked out. Sometimes we draft a player in 2 of those 3 categories. Here’s to hoping he turns it around fast because after this draft, we were supposed to have our future #1 WR and RB. We even got a nice surprise in Coker and in Thielen looking like he has plenty of gas in the tank and here we are talking about using our high 1st round pick on yet another WR and I’ve seen people suggesting a 4th on another RB, which was a very wise call for the teams who waited in this past draft to take a RB in the 4th.
  3. It did. Not even close to getting the onside kick.
  4. Joe Brady is a moron. Don’t care how well you’ve done this year, you just called a play that means you have a 3% chance at an onside kick. Makes no sense to call that. Basically took away any chance to win.
  5. Dude, I was a Young hater last year as much as anyone and I was glad to bench him but he had a good game. Legette blew the game. Against a great defense Bryce should have had 200+ and 2 TDs while doing really, really well not getting sacked on a ton of attempts. He threw one really bad interception, but he kept us in the game against a SB contender on the road. He balled out for us.
  6. If only there was a legit C available when we took an injured RB in a weak RB class. SMH. Still boggles my mind with the loaded 2025 RB class awaiting us.
  7. McConkey is already a #1 right now. He’s not going to be a Randy Moss, but a Welker/Edelman is a nice option.
  8. It’s really starting to feel like Fitterer rinse and repeat. Take a guy a couple rounds early that isn’t polished with our 1st and then take an injured guy with the 2nd.
  9. Young was once again solid and made the potential game winning throw. Just like Chuba blew the game winner last week, Leggette blew this one. Young has been really solid and I was done with him last year. If only we didn’t waste our 1st and 2nd round picks as per usual.
  10. The whole he has better drop stats than almost every WR is bullshit. Dude has bad hands regardless of the stats. We all have been talking about it all year. Dropping a great game winning catch is beyond comprehension. It wasn’t even a hard catch and there was no one near him.
  11. Lol. We got lucky the CB let him go. Young made that play. Lol, and now he drops another.
  12. I was thinking the same thing. The Leggette pick looks bad when we play a decent team because he is never open.
  13. Because he blocked a LB? Every C should make that block. He’s been fine, but he’s not blocking Carter 1 on 1. The rest of our OL is solid so that really helps him look better. I still wish we picked Frazier instead of Brooks. We would be ever better.
  14. Eddie P. got word to protect the draft pick. It worked last week but it’s getting too obvious.
  15. It was an overthrow. Thielen had no chance to catch it. Way over his head.
  16. Young stared down that route. Also, with 2 yards to go, that was a bad play call because Thielen appeared to be the first read. Just get a first down.
  17. F’n Young’s pocket presence has been phenomenal lately. This is not the same guy we saw to start the season. Crazy that I’m enjoying watching Young play now.
  18. That or he gets a HC gig. We’d get a 3rd in 2025 and in 2026.
  19. It’s not superstition. I don’t know why we have a predilection to sign and draft guys who are risky. We needed a C or CB way more. This sucks, I in no way wanted this to happen but since our last good year in 2017, we’ve taken these risks way too much and it never works.
  20. fug. When you pick a guy who is likely missing most of the season and there’s a great RB class coming in 2025, you are taking a big risk. Non-contact, ugh.
  21. The bolded is what’s wrong with taking him. The 2025 RB class is loaded and as you can see with my post above, there were several RBs who’ve looked good that were taken 2+ round after Brooks. I think we thought Brooks was going to be this year. There was a ton of talk about him being ready at the end of training camp/early season. Chuba and the OL have been pleasant surprises and now Brooks is sharing the position for maybe 4 years. Maybe he’ll be all world, but I still think Frazier at C at that pick would have been the best move and take a RB in the 3rd/4th of this draft or even better 2025. Chuba was a 4th as well. Again, I would love nothing more than having an elite Barkley like RB on the team. I’m not going to crown anyone after 8 carries for 25 yards behind an OL that has Chuba at 900+ yards and 4.9ypc in 12 games.
  22. May be a wee bit early on this. I thought he looked quick at times but one run he tried to go through David and it didn’t work. The second guy he made miss on the catch was Vea, a huge DT way down field. I hope he is that guy but 8 for 25 isn’t screaming anything. Every RB who’s even decent has some highlight moves. Heck, there are 5 RBs taken in the 4th or later with 300-1000+ total yards and Guerrendo is about to be the 6th. Brooks needs to be the Gibbs to China’s Montgomery to make his pick worth it.
