Antonio Brown wants to sue the Bucs for... trying to help him?
Anybodyhome replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I watched the entire interview on Real Sports last night.... oh, boy. Not a good look for AB. -
Would like to see the 3rd and 4th line play out of their minds tonite and put some points on the board. Staal has been grinding it out night after night and, although his point production doesn't show it, he's been working hard. Stepan is also nearing the end of his career and I'd be very pleased to see him get his 500th point in the next few games. Nino's last 2 games have been great, don't know what happened, but he's a different player right now. Lorentz has been doing a lot of the dirty work deep along the boards lately and KK belongs in the middle of that line. His net front is always a threat. ----------------------------- Keep The Momentum Going: Tuesday night the team pulled out a big victory against the Pacific Division leaders, despite letting their two-goal advantage slip in the game's final seven minutes. Sebastian Aho recorded the overtime winner, a new franchise-best seventh, and Frederik Andersen made 26 stops for his 22nd victory of he season. So Hot, Svech: Andrei Svechnikov enters tonight game recording two points in each of his last five games played. Because of the stretch he's upped his season total to 36 points in 36 games, which ranks only behind Aho on the team. DeAngelo's Run: Along with Svech, defenseman Tony DeAngelo also has points in five straight games. The blueliner is now over a point per game, totaling 33 points in 32 contests this season. Get It Back: When the two sides met in the beginning of December, goaltender (and former Hurricane) Anton Forsberg stole the show, making a remarkable 47 stops for Ottawa. He was the deciding factor in why his team won that game, despite Carolina's 49 shots. The Canes will undoubtedly want to get that one back when they go head-to-head tonight. Additional Notes: Milestone Watch: Derek Stepan is three points shy of 500 for his NHL career. What Color Are We Wearing?: The team will be wearing their white sweaters tonight. Hurricanes Next Home Game: Saturday, January 29 vs. New Jersey - Whalers Night Forwards: Teravainen - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - Trocheck - Necas Niederreiter - Staal - Fast Lorentz - Kotkaniemi - Stepan Defensemen: Slavin - DeAngelo Skjei - Pesce Cole - Bear Starting Goalie: Andersen

Freddie's saves in OT were highlight reel stuff. Canes are usually pretty conservative and wait for the right moment 3 on 3, but they got caught a couple times and I thought it was over. Svech's anticipation of the puck coming off the boards was great, he blew past Carrier and it was over before they could react.

Canes D looks pretty solid tonite. Lots of excellent sticks & backchecks.
-
Beauty no look pass by Svech.

Fast pressure on the puck along the wall got Nino the puck.

Sean Payton Officially Steps Away From Saints
Anybodyhome replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wait, some of you guys asking for Payton were here just the other day saying you wouldn't want Aaron Rodgers because he's a prick. Make up your minds. -
Just a few tidbits from the article.... https://thehockeywriters.com/klingberg-trade-make-hurricanes-blue-line-lethal/ The Carolina Hurricanes will take all your defensemen. I remember back in the summer of 2019, the team had two stars on the top pairing in Jaccob Slavin and Dougie Hamilton, one of the best shutdown second-pairing blueliners in the league in Brett Pesce, a top-10 pick pushing his way into the lineup in Haydn Fleury, and two stable veterans in Trevor van Riemsdyk and Joel Edmundson, the latter fresh off a Stanley Cup win with St. Louis. That looked like a legit six-man unit. Then, late in free agency, they added another splashy, offensive defenseman in Jake Gardiner, seemingly out of nowhere. Everybody in the hockey world laughed — “they’re just going to sign all the defensemen in the league, obviously.” Oh, they added Brady Skjei at that year’s trade deadline, too (but the rash of injuries at the position did sort of make that necessary). Well, history may just be repeating itself. Despite a phenomenal blue line still spearheaded by Pesce, Slavin, and Skjei, alongside Ethan Bear, Ian Cole, and perhaps the best bargain signing of the year in Tony DeAngelo, the team is in the rumor mill again about a big-name defender that is reportedly on the market. ---------------------------------- Where Klingberg would really make his money in Carolina is as a power-play quarterback and puck mover. Outside of DeAngelo, there isn’t a big threat to consistently activate from the blue line and create offense, and DeAngelo himself is best suited for a bottom-pair role, as we’ve seen over the last few games. He’s provided a lot of offense… for both teams. Klingberg can eat big minutes, is lethal on the power play as both a shooter and passer, and, in conjunction with the speed and forechecking of the forward core, would likely make for a breakout and zone entry machine. The Hurricanes did well to try and replace Hamilton with two relatively cheap options in Bear and DeAngelo. The latter especially has provided a lot of scoring punch and looks like one of the best bargain signings of the year. ----------------------------------- The way things are tracking, though, I may be willing to reverse course here. Not only are the Hurricanes as well-equipped as any team in the league to endure an injury or two with legit NHLers like Josh Leivo, Stefan Noesen, and Jack Drury, among others, waiting in the wings, but the way young players like Seth Jarvis and Andrei Svechnikov are growing before our eyes, there may not even be a slot to add another forward in without potentially hampering two cornerstone pieces. -----------------------------------

A Sad and Dejected Tampa Bay Bucs team Heads To The Locker Room
Anybodyhome replied to KatsAzz's topic in Carolina Panthers
You must not have seen too many Brady games. He was notorious for getting hit, yelling at the refs until they threw a flag for roughing the passer and happily walking upfield 15 yards. -

How many times has Brady gotten a flag in his favor after yelling at the refs? -
Mike Martz had Kurt Warner, Torry Holt, Marshall Faulk and a pretty fugging good Rams team for a few years, so I wouldn't be too quick to think it was necessarily him.

I gave up on NFL fandom about 4-5 years ago so I could enjoy a good game without investment. Makes for a happier, healthy life.
-
A great game unfortunately ended anticlimactically by the NFL shitty OT rules. The better QB tonite never got a chance to match in OT
-
All LA needed was a couple first downs, maybe a FG ad it's game over.

Fug Brady and Arians

What’s your pitch to Aaron Rodgers to come to Carolina
Anybodyhome replied to Leotiger's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is hilarious.... a franchise that started with the likes of Kerry Collins; Rae Carruth was a star on the rise; Greg Hardy's assault and arsenal; and an owner who only showed up on jeans Friday..... But no one here wants Aaron Rodgers because he's a prick. Full disclosure.... it will never happen, but it is kind of ironic. -
Has a QB ever played any worse than Garrapolo and found himself in the conference championship? The Niners have nothing beyond Debo Samuel.

1/22 Game Thread: Canes @ NJ Devils Puck Drop: 7PM
Anybodyhome replied to Anybodyhome's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
In my opinion, RBA probably had several reasons for playing Laff. Raanta may not be back to 100%, Freddie was not ready after a late night and there was probably a belief the Canes could beat a bad NJ team despite the back-to-back, late night, screwed up travel, etc. But starting a rook in his first game has its own challenges. The most important being his time in net. I get it- you could forever screw his head up after he gives up 5 and you pull him. Sometimes you just have to let him get his initiation and go through this, win or lose. Today, we're 2 points behind the Rangers, but they have 2 more losses and we have 4 games in hand. 5 games in hand with Tampa Bay and 3 with Florida- both of them are at 61 points. -

Looks like RBA is willing to take an L tonight. -
Does this mean we're being treated to live sex on TV tomorrow when Jim Nance and Tony Romo suck TB12's dick for about 3 hours?

A bad team ringing up 5 on the Canes. Kid's trial by fire, or...?
