Most issues with blitz pick up in college are connected to scheming. When you have long developing routes for big play potential it results in issues with the blitz. Also, every QB that doesn't have a super solid line is going to struggle against the blitz. Also, he and Lebo tried to get these kids to work with them on their jumpers last season. These weird kids were talking about shooting coaches and Hubert said look in the rafters. The two highest shooting percentages in the history of the university belong to two of your coaches. This year everyone worked with NBA trainers in the offseason and no one can shoot. What adjustments do you expect him to make? I agree that Nance is a bad fit and shouldn't get as many minutes. But what are the options? Puff stays hurt and then plays up to his namesake. Also with making adjustments as a leader, you don't change your whole structure because players aren't stepping up. In the tourney last year, Davis, Love, and Bacot played tough defense the whole tournament. Brady's shooting opened the lane up for Bacot to operate and for driving lanes. This showed that the system works, so CHD should get to operate with his players(#1 recruiting class 24), without these current quitters on the team and without fear of losing his job before that happens. The glaring adjustment CHD needs to make is an easier non-conference schedule with practice time scheduled between games. The only difference between UNC and Duke is Duke didn't play any away games until December. Meanwhile, we were getting drug all across the country with no practice time.

That's how I felt thinking Reich and Bieniemy were the top two names in that cycle. Then out of nowhere comes this college coach with one year of experience as an OL assistant. I was so happy when he was fired last year and then Wilks almost getting the team to the playoffs honestly soured this hire initially. I told my friends both things can be true as you can be happy cause no one dislikes Frank and the excitement surrounding him, but also the history of black coaches getting leapfrogged. People that said WIlks couldn't build a competent staff were talking about Ben Johnson and Steichen. I don't think either one of those two guys could have built this juggernaut we currently have now. I was recruited by Caldwell at Wake Forest and he is a helluva down to earth guy as well as possessing all the leadership characteristics a coach needs. Growing up a Panthers' fan, I'm ecstatic about Dom Capers and his young protege. I may just attend training camp which I haven't done in 4-5 years!
