  1. There is a rational argument to not trade up but this ain’t it. If Fitt and Reich say that the cost was too much and they don’t have confidence in the guy(s) available so be it. But dumpster diving for a Franchise QB is probably not the best strategy.
  2. I am at the mercy of the coaching staff and am willing to accept what they decide is right. Unlike previous years where Rhule was both the man in charge and the squeaky wheel, I am comfortable with the people in the room arriving at a rational decision. I want a QB, would ideally like to move up and will be disappointed if we don't move up to get one. But the question is, does the staff value a QB enough to move up to get him. If they evaluate and consider the guys kinda meh, then I think I will understand albeit with a hefty amount of frustration.
  3. Trying to jump back into the firat makes sense to me. Devils always get n the details but I would like it.
  4. Agreed. Hopefully most level headed folks won’t judge a 20 year old on comments such as this. Rational minded people will wait till he’s in his 40s and running for public office and then hold it against him.
  5. I missed the whole Pearl Jam/Nirvana craze when I was younger. Could not get into it. But I’ve since revisited and the music is incredible. It’s great to discover something new even if it’s old.
  6. Not sure if this is bias or stereotyping but my experience is generally speaking, women have a better eye for detail than men. I actually think there is psychological data/evidence supporting this regarding female and male attentiveness but ironically, I can’t remember all the details. That said, glad the young lady is breaking thru and starting a good career.
  7. Are the televising the live hand and arm measurements for the QBs and OTs respectively or will this be available on demand behind some sort of pay wall? must see TV
  8. Agree with this. You may have two guys you are looking at and all other things being equal, the minority under-represented guy gets chosen. To suggest we are hiring less than qualified candidates so we can get a draft pick some time in the future is nonsense.
  9. I dont think this is OP's intent but all tall AA QBs that are strong and fast should not automatically be compared to Cam Newton.
  10. This was a SMH/WTF issue when it happened. If I am giving Fitt the benefit of the doubt I would think he was on the WTF side of it but Rhule held the keys to the kingdom so he kept giving Rhule the rope to hang himself. We will probably never no but I suspect why Fitt is still around is because he kept documentation on all of this crap so it landed on Rhule. The next season or two should give us some idea as it has been stated that he is in charge of putting the 53 together.
  11. This 100 %. Adding OL depth in large rounds should be at least considered every draft.
  12. There is a difference between being aggressive in pursuing your targeted qb and being psychotic and reckless with the future. Not sure if there is a can’t miss guy in this draft. That said, I don’t have confidence that the “diversity of thought” Reich speaks of will arrive at a conclusion where this deal would be rational. Maybe if there was one guy with all the power but thankfully that doesn’t seem to exist here anymore.
  13. Based on our historical draft strategy related to OL his projection is over a decade too early. Our future first round tackle is still in 4th grade.
  14. Perfect answer from Coach about the player vs coach percentage. Whether or not it is “accurate” is debatable but it was “right” and said with conviction. Not sure what wins and losses will be but BOA is staffed with grownups.
  15. I think if/when they are sold on one or the other they will likely start trying to make moves. I would think the staff that they have put together along with Fitt will be aggressive if they are sold on the QBs. It may be a very fun couple of months leading up to the draft.
  16. It’s a win for everyone. Wilks isn’t an HC but a DC gig for one of the top teams in the league is a cushy consolation prize. glad Reich is doing what he’s doing andTepper seems to be finding his footing. But fug Rhule and all the corn in Nebraska.
  17. Admittedly I’m not versed in complex offensive schemes so I have to keep it at a high level. I don’t know exactly what plays we will see but if it’s 4th and 1 from midfield with playoffs on the line I doubt we will be punting.
  18. Tepper definitely had significant missteps with Rhule and hopefully learned from them. No way to know how this new regime will fair but the approach resembles an organization going in the right direction. I think he was fairly hands off and let Rhule running the show. Problem was Rhule was a micromanager and had no clue about building an NFL staff or team. Reich, Fitt and the staff are competent and have the background it takes to take this club to the next level. Tep has to see the sharp contrast. If his role is to stay engaged to understand the goings on and write checks then he will probably see a good return on investment.
  19. “He’ll be the most talented QB we’ve had since Cam”. Just like Baker was and we know how well that went. I want the team to be better and Carr probably makes the team better so the exercise of considering the option is being thorough. That said, I don’t think I’d be happy for settling for that if there are other options available thru the draft. Personally, this would be way down the list for me in terms of trying to fix the QB dilemma.
  20. Coaching can mask those holes to a degree. For the past 3 years Rhule represented the biggest hole or as I like to call it, the A hole. Now that the A Hole is gone, hopefully some of those other things won’t be so glaring.
