Daniel Jeremiah Has us taking.....
Pejorative Miscreant replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Based on our historical draft strategy related to OL his projection is over a decade too early. Our future first round tackle is still in 4th grade. -

Go for Carr hard and save #9 pick?
Pejorative Miscreant replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think if/when they are sold on one or the other they will likely start trying to make moves. I would think the staff that they have put together along with Fitt will be aggressive if they are sold on the QBs. It may be a very fun couple of months leading up to the draft. -
It’s a win for everyone. Wilks isn’t an HC but a DC gig for one of the top teams in the league is a cushy consolation prize. glad Reich is doing what he’s doing andTepper seems to be finding his footing. But fug Rhule and all the corn in Nebraska.

We have our coaches. What schemes will we run?
Pejorative Miscreant replied to Cam's New Arm's topic in Carolina Panthers
Admittedly I’m not versed in complex offensive schemes so I have to keep it at a high level. I don’t know exactly what plays we will see but if it’s 4th and 1 from midfield with playoffs on the line I doubt we will be punting. -
Tepper definitely had significant missteps with Rhule and hopefully learned from them. No way to know how this new regime will fair but the approach resembles an organization going in the right direction. I think he was fairly hands off and let Rhule running the show. Problem was Rhule was a micromanager and had no clue about building an NFL staff or team. Reich, Fitt and the staff are competent and have the background it takes to take this club to the next level. Tep has to see the sharp contrast. If his role is to stay engaged to understand the goings on and write checks then he will probably see a good return on investment.

“He’ll be the most talented QB we’ve had since Cam”. Just like Baker was and we know how well that went. I want the team to be better and Carr probably makes the team better so the exercise of considering the option is being thorough. That said, I don’t think I’d be happy for settling for that if there are other options available thru the draft. Personally, this would be way down the list for me in terms of trying to fix the QB dilemma.

Has anyone looked at our Cap situation for 2023?

Is Matt Khalil off the books yet? -
Coaching can mask those holes to a degree. For the past 3 years Rhule represented the biggest hole or as I like to call it, the A hole. Now that the A Hole is gone, hopefully some of those other things won’t be so glaring.

Resign Sam? It depends. As a backup and mentor I’d consider it Draft other positions? Assuming this means not attempting to go after a qb, no.

If he can make/keep that defense strong and seriously look at the offensive philosophy in SF I think Wilks will be a great head coach. The Rivera/Fox mentality and conservatism on offense is the albatross he has to shake and he will be a great head coach. Wish him the best.

Behind the scenes of the coaching search
Pejorative Miscreant replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yep. Tampa game spoke volumes to fans and evidently the front office. -
Very nice hire. I’ve seen him before on TV and know the name but didn’t realize he was (or maybe just appears) so young. Hope the Panthers job is a pivotal stepping stone for him and he does good things here.

Yeah. I am all for a bigger QB and agree the wear and tear of n a smaller guy can/will impact him down the stretch but when you use certain examples in your argument that don’t hold water it’s disappointing. If a QB is 6”1 he’s made of glass but at 6”3 he is iron. Not really. That said I would ideally like a bigger QB and would give Stroud the nod over Young. If u pull the trigger on AR or Levis I hope it works out. Davis Mills, Mariota and Darnold and a lot of other NFL QBs are all 6”3 ish and we’re good in college but they probably aren’t taking you anywhere. agree with OP though. Gotta swing for some of these guys (QB, TE, LB etc..) and get them on the roster. Everyone will be flawed in some way but if you wait for perfection you’re going to be waiting.

Steve Smith on the Wilks vs Reich debate
Pejorative Miscreant replied to methodtoll's topic in Carolina Panthers
I believe those plays coupled with the loss is what sealed Wilk's fate. We will never know for sure but if I were a betting man I would say that was it. -
Draft Simulator (Lets see What You Got)
Pejorative Miscreant replied to Daddy_Uncle's topic in Carolina Panthers
The problem is the algorithm to trade up to a premium spot is not in line with reality. I was able to swap from 9 to 5 by throwing in a mid and late round pick. Still fun tho -

another option than trading for the first pick...
Pejorative Miscreant replied to Panfan35's topic in Carolina Panthers
If the Raiders were willing to eat 85-90% of Carr's contract I would be willing to trade a closet full of XXL Panthers Coaching Smocks for him. Final offer and the clock is ticking. Expecting to hear back from SF anytime now... -

Frank Reich's Intro Presser - Today, Noon EST
Pejorative Miscreant replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
A few things grabbed my attention. 1. When asked about Indy he said they couldn’t run. Then followed up by saying “that’s on me. I’m the head coach and I’m responsible. 2. “Scott F. Sets the 53 and he decides who is active and who plays but there is collaboration” 3. It’s not a one man show. It’s a team effort. Somehow it feels like there is already a better definition and respect of roles people play within the org with him being here. Cant fully know for certain but looks like a big difference between him and the last regime.
