Yeah. He is not as poised when the pressure is on. In his defense, he was able to play decent after the INT and fumble. Seemed to be more comfortable than last year. Not the answer at QB for sure, but played better than I thought possible.

Good summary. I give Darnold props. He has eclipsed the ceiling I thought he was capable of. But IMO it is not high enough to be the long term answer for a franchise.

Can only speculate, but Baker was the shiny new toy and he had the confidence coming in with the gunslinger attitude. Sam was probably demoralized and he never had much of a wow factor to begin with.

The word that comes to my mind is he looks comfortable. He never looked comfortable playing last season. Always seemed to be on the edge of disaster. It’s still a very small sample size but he is a better player than he was previously. Not saying he is the answer and not saying he is a franchise QB. Just saying he seems to have improved quite a bit.

I think baker also had 121.4 if u combine 3 or 4 games.

Zach Wilson resembles a destitute man's version of Sam Darnold. Not sure how the Jet's have pulled it off but they seem to have actually regressed at QB since Darnold's departure. If you are a Jet's fan and try to noodle that one around for a bit your head will explode.

This will warrant 7-10 pages of fighting. But to answer your question 1. He has a point 2. He also has obvious bias 3. Some players drafted in later rounds are successful 4. Some guys drafted in Round 1 bust 5. Round 1 guys have Higher success rate and achievement.

I’d still bitch about cap management and inability to sign players. Gotta dig deep in the hate man. Only way to go.

I am with you on pulling for the team to win. I do t feel good about backing into the top playoffs and don’t feel as excited Due to where we are in terms of record and some of the lackluster performances. Feeling kinda meh but will definitely pull for them. Hell, it’s a home playoff game and a division title even if we do have a losing record.

A QB who was drafted late/undrafted and plays well does not disprove that drafting a QB in round one gives you a higher probability of success. At least to rational minded folk.

Resign is ok if it is a decent deal but I don’t like long term. Not a top priority and I think RB is a buyers market. If u can get better at the position without breaking the bank then do it.

Internally I am penciling Wilks in at HC and wondering who we get as an OC. I know its early, there are lots of moving parts and the games need to be played, but that is my gut feeling on how this will play out.

I still consider him a rookie based on the number of games he’s played and the injury he had last year. He’s special for sure.

Wilks will likely ask McAdoo to go conservative. I hope it works.
