  1. me thinks this was 100% coincidental.
  2. Didn't realize this was already 8 pages long when I posted. Please enjoy the 85th Gary Coleman GIF (RIP) of the thread. Apologies
  3. Short (no pun intended) of Young growing several inches, there is no real spin you can put on his size. It is what it is and continued attempts to minimize it doesn't help. If we draft him, fine. The experts in the building have weighed the benefits/drawbacks to both he and Stroud and believe Young gives us the best chance to win. I can rest easy with that.
  4. After reviewing all of the detailed insider scoops I think the pick will be Young. Or maybe Stroud.
  5. It’s not often you have this problem. Usually it’s “the top 15 guys everyone wants will be gone by the eighth pick” prognostication based on huddle math. Please give me more threads like this till 8:01 pm the day of.
  6. Agree with this. But I can’t help but think need factors into final selections. Not sure how the sausage gets made but I think if 2-3 players are close you go with the one that fills the ”need”. Certainly don’t think it’s wise to reach tho.
  7. If it falls like that it’ll be ok. Obviously would like to address edge but don’t want to reach.
  8. The brains focusing on this are not concerned about 70 thousand people in the stands. They are concentrating on how to get more than 7 million (my guess probably wrong) TV's to watch it. I think the Thursday product is bad and they will do/try anything they can to improve it.
  9. I hear you. But a year ago we were bitchin’ about Sam, Rhule and which mediocre Qb we would have to reach for in 2022 draft. Today, Sam/Rhule are gone and we hold the number 1 draft position. We are so much better off.
  10. Sam's a good dude and probably a great teammate and hope he balls out in SF. But I think he is getting very close to his ceiling if he isnt there already. I would like to be wrong about this, tho.
  11. I may be in the minority but I think Tep going to the workouts is a huge positive. He doesn’t watch hours of film but sitting next to the guys who do and being able to see some of it through their eyes in real time has to be an eye opening experience.
  12. Good stuff. I think it’s good that the owner gets to see how the sausage is made. Little tidbit about Morgan picking then up shows they aren’t just helicoptering in for these things.
  13. Why don’t they just do it like the huddle and spend endless hours of explaining why their opinion is correct and anyone who disagrees is a moron.
  14. This is a key point that gives me some optimism. In my mind, Bozeman being a vet was in a much better position to come in and excel at his job. TMJ, on the other hand, was a raw NFL player coming back from injury while trying to get his feet under him so I can see where he wasn't able to flourish. He needs a healthy off-season and some competent coaching. Hopefully the added pressure is not too much for him and he can take a leap forward. As its been said previously, he has several areas he needs to work on but has also shown signs that he is very capable.
  15. I don’t think Tepper would be the guy to make or necessarily veto a decision. I think he is there mainly to learn and understand the evaluation process (hate that word). I think if there is a “tie” he would help mediate the decision but I don’t think it will come down to a trivial fact like “ I liked how Bryce tied his shoe laces” so we are going with him. I know there is a desire to label him as the meddling owner but I don’t think that is the case here.
  16. Based on todays poor showing he must be using hellmans instead of Dukes. Bust.
  17. The roster construction as it exists today with Dalton under center is better than last year plus you have a grown up staff whose substance outweighs its cliches and buzzwords. Not saying the team won’t take some lumps but on paper they will not be an easy out.
  18. I think we’ve built a solid foundation or “relief valve” targets with Hurst, Thielan and Sanders. Still need a guy or two more but dude has at least a year or more left.
  19. I think it triggered a lot of people on here to jump to conclusions. Tepper was humbled by the whole Rhule experience IMO and has hired guys that know what they are doing for a reason. If they draft Young over Stroud it will not be simply because Tepper likes Young even though many will push that narrative.
