  1. No, I’m saying that if last year was above expectations that’s not a great sign.
  2. Wow. That might be the saddest thing I’ve read on this board.
  3. Yeah, no. D. Grant, J. James Grant went on to win a SB with NE. Jeno is still occupying a spot on the all-time Panthers roster.
  4. Hurney would re-sign all the players to Charles Johnson contracts. It’s gonna take a long time to wash that taste out of our mouths.
  5. Can I play Devils advocate? K. Next year our cap opens up and we have a considerable amount no? What if knowing the books will clear next offseason, they use this year as a one shot deal to try and make a run? Cooky stuff but fun af to think about. A couple one year rentals. What’s the worst that could happen? Our 4th consecutive losing season? What. ever. would. we. do?
  6. Receivers can not let the ball get to the pads. That ball shot 20ft in the air. Receivers are paid to use their hands. Use them.
  7. Back in the early 2000’s I could tell you the 52 man roster plus practice squad. Could name the staff too all the way down to equipment manager. Now? uh…. CMC, Burns, Chinn, All 3 Moores, the draft class and FA class. Outside that, spotty at best. 25%- 30%?
  8. This year with the extra game, I have no misgivings that our starting 5 will be the same all year long. It will be a battle of attrition.
  9. Like I said, the only real reason I put Brady outside is because of comments coach made. Other than that, im trying to see into the future.
  10. as far as the guard group goes, its gonna boil down to the best fit. One group should end up out-performing the others. Hopefully by enough of a gap that there is no doubt.
  11. Its not bold its bull poo. Moton is nearing All-Pro status at RT. Moving him weakens 2 spots on the line. Gross did play '03 at RT. Only b/c he was a top-10 pick and could ball. We had a LT at the time. Gross was to replace Steussie. Which he did the following year. Rookie tackles weren't usually tossed in the starting lineup back then. Especially LT. Erving and Eflein seem like fit signings. The staff saw something they think they can use. They weren't brought in on hopes and prayers. Money dictates who will start the season at C. We have players with some skill that can hold off a UDRFA challenger. This is how I see it to start the season: Christensen - (Daley/Eflein)- Paradis - (Eflein/Daley) - Moton Brady goes to LT for 2 reasons, he's listed on the team site as a T and Rhule said whoever they drafted in the 3rd round needed to be a day 1 starter.
  12. It'll be confusing for everyone until one of them does something of note or we revert to using jersey numbers.
  13. Szoke is as knowledgeable and has seen as much if not more live Panthers games than anyone. He has a wealth of experience to draw from and that's why he is best suited as someone to discuss the team not necessarily call the games. I've interviewed Jim myself and hes a natural radio talent. It was so much fun picking his brain for the 30 minutes he gave us. Good guy too.
  14. Is that the young guy that brought back Packard's show Primetime? Edit: Nope. See above
  15. Ok? Players visit sick kids in hospitals. Why not visit a terminally awful franchise? Makes sense.
  16. Being of the one handed persuasion myself, he’s my guy.
  17. I’m familiar with the guy. At the end none of us were “fans” of Jake. It got bad. What never changes is how good he was for us for that short period.
  18. Yeah, and a lot of talented guys got that ass beat by Jake too.
  19. Hard not to root for the muscle legster.
