I feel like Jenkins was only really great in 02/03, he took a long time to get back in shape. He was supposedly pretty good his first season with the Jets. Having him and Moose in 05 would have been amazing.

I think it’s important to draft winners but honestly I’m surprised any time these big school QBs do well at all. It’s gotta be a culture shock.

Bryce getting killed by the Chiefs would be better than Dalton
-
2026 too lol. I think this is the most behind the 8 ball the team has ever been but I’m happy to watch young players grow and get paid.
-
I wont be salty if Evero leaves on his own or is scapegoated but honestly i think he’s fine and the defense will get better with more talent. Front 7 needs some love.
-
I think Bryce has looked much better lately but it’s still not anywhere close to good enough. If we ever need him to do more he’ll be shut down.
-
It’s sort of good but also terrible. It kept my attention sometimes. Sort of reminds me of a different entertainment product…

I’m always rooting for him to do well and happy when he does. My mind is made up on how his NFL career will go. I’m all but positive he won’t make a roster after he leaves the Panthers. No point in having a backup that can’t run the full offense.

Bryce doesn’t deserve to compete next year. No QB looks this bad for two years and turns it around. The optimism isn’t warranted.

I did get tired of Fox having the same defensive philosophy even if the front 4 wasn’t that 02/03 level. It was never that good again but it felt like we never blitzed and played ball control.
-
Damn I had to meet a friend and left right after that. I guess I screwed up his rhythm.
-
I’d love to watch a group of players put it together. it doesn’t matter how well Bryce plays for the rest of the season. It won’t make up for the glaring weaknesses he’s already demonstrated. I remember way back in 2005 when the Jags had those monster DTs in the middle and the patriots methodically game planned around them to beat them in the playoffs. you couldn’t do that with Bryce.

Yeah Brown was shown to be a lot more important even in his second year

Peppers had some poor showings or seasons sometimes too but was a lot stronger and able to break through double teams. Burns will only ever be a role player.

BREAKING:Panthers re-sign Chuba Hubbard
Donald LaFell replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah we need any kind of consistency for a good long while -
Yeah that’s the insane part. We need this 3 years in a row at least lol
-
I can’t see any way he could play well enough to convince me he could be a top 5-10 starter in the NFL. Best case scenario he’s 1st round playoff exit anytime he plays a decent defense. I think he’s bad enough that he legitimately won’t have a career after the panthers. I’ll be shocked if someone trades anything for him.

With the first pick, don't draft a QB? Draft a DE? C'mon!
Donald LaFell replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
If they can keep the O-line together and healthy then I think a QB at #1 is an ok choice but then that probably puts pressure on the FO to go heavy on the offense again. Either way it’s a long process. -
I love that Coker has seemingly found his way to the NFL by excelling at route running which a lot of the more physically gifted guys totally neglect. I think he could be really stable safety valve for years to come.

Bryce is starter Sunday per Canales presser
Donald LaFell replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
He at least seems to be playing like he has nothing to lose. I think this might be the first time I’ve truly seen him rip it over the middle. I don’t think he’ll pan out but any positives would be nice. If he gets traded then hallelujah. -
I was super hopeful for Gettis and Lafell in 2010. Too bad they didn’t work out here but I’m glad Lafell got a ring.
-
Do you resign Dalton for one more season?
Donald LaFell replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
If he’s happy in a backup role I’d love to have him back just to be a QB in the room who has had success(however limited) in Canales’s offense. I’m after any semblance of consistency year over year. -
I think if the new coach doesn’t work out and is fired. As long as the team looks better over time with the existing coach and staff I think you just keep a timer of 2-3 years for them to assemble a roster. otherwise the timer restarts a bit. if we actually hit on some draft picks then maybe the next coach will finally look a little better for his first year.
