  1. you were told wrong. http://chronicle.northcoastnow.com/2015/03/26/nfl-commissioner-roger-goodell-says-nfl-ttreating-browns-game-texting-serious-offense/ part f the reason kyle shannahan left the browns was supposedly because he felt uncomfortable with the GM and other members of the personnel dept. sending texts to the field. one of the big issues is that they were sending the texts from the press box. from what i understand, the texts were more opinions and suggestions rather than orders or something as nefarious as communicating with the other teams. they seems to have been pretty harmless and more just annoying to the coaching staff having the GM and guys from personnel meddling. but rules are rules. you can't use those devices on the sidelines. communication is limited to the headsets and that one phone line to the booth.
  2. i'm pretty much a minimalist. i have 2 pairs of khakis and one pair of jeans that i rotate (in addition to pair of cargo pants and work jeans for working outside). i wear the khakis more than the jeans because they are more comfortable so they get washed a bit more, but even at that it's only twice a month for the khakis and probably once a month for the jeans (and every couple months for the working outside pants). a and no, they don't stink. obviously, if i spill something on them or sit somewhere that leaves a mark i will throw them i will throw them in the wash, but that isn't often. i also only take a shower every couple days and if my hair didn't get greasy it would be less often than that. if it isn't really warm out i won't use deodorant. i'm just not a dirty smelly person. i mean when i work outside i will sweat and get dirty, but i'll take a shower after that and my work pants will just go on a pile in the laundry room waiting to be used another time.
  3. according to a lot of the PMs that i have made the mistake of actually opening up and reading over the last couple years may have given myself more credit than i deserve with that description.
  4. i think of my role as the equivalent of a psych ward janitor.
  5. yep. said it before richardson was drafted and while there was so much hype going on calling him the best prospect since adrian peterson. who was right? i'd have a hard time arguing against brown.
  6. i feel the same way...that we aren't done at receiver. but then i remember feeling the same way about OT pretty much all offseason last year.
  7. didn't read the whole thread and i'm not likely to, but hardy wasn't exactly disciplined. he was basically given a $13mil paid vacation with no responsibilities. How the hell is that being disciplined?
  8. i still think he's too obsessed with the DL. that's my only criticism.
  9. my typical and prefered breakfast. monday-friday...scrambled eggs and non-link sausage (either venison or pork) or bacon. saturday and sunday...see above and add grits and maybe a pancake or two and maybe substitute the sausage or bacon with a pork chop. really chicken and pigs provide all the breakfast i need or really want. add in a half a cow, a couple deer, and my garden and i'm pretty much set for the year.
  10. birth of a child, esp. your first >>>>>>> anything else. you don't miss it unless forced to by being on duty in the military or something like that. and football is not the military nor is it something nearly as important.
  11. i would love for us to go into training camp with the OL already set and the starters spend the whole time getting reps together with cam. we waste so much time having competition for starting spots on the OL every year (going back into the fox era) and that usually results in the OL taking several weeks into the regular season for them to gel. crap.....last year or two we've still been trying to figure out who the starters are going to be several weeks into the season. the interior is set heading into the future and RT might be as well. imo, we don't need to screw around with anything there. just build on what chemistry was there and let them use the experience of this past season as a foundation for the 2015 season. hopefully we add the LT early in the offseason via FA or the draft so we can even let them start getting reps together in mini camps. we can't start early enough building that chemistry, imo.
  12. it would be nice to have someone with some actual experience returning punts prior to playing with the panthers.
  13. move your little show to the smack thread.
  14. nope. we just think the buc fanbase is close to non-existant and/or just weak.
  15. that's kind of embarrassing. i wonder how many free tickets the glazers gave away to make that rise happen?
  16. i didn't know about about JC. that makes me sad. even sadder to find out that it happened last year and i didn't know. the guy was an icon. i'll still go to the beacon, but i agree a lot of the appeal of that place was JC taking your order and watching newbs get nervous or stammer and be told to step aside. the whole operation there is still pretty impressive and the food has always been good (even if it causes a blow out within a couple hours), but losing JC definitely takes something away from the experience.
