It's not like we have been a great draw anyways.

The big problem is he wants to succeed too much, but he thinks it's on him to ensure it happens and the more he fails, the more he feels he has to fix it or make sure he fixes it. What makes it even harder is he's no smarter than many fans. You look at that thread that talks about what we would do to fix the team and I could see him in there going , "yeah! This is what I need to do!" Not that he would read any and take suggestions, more that his mind is working the same way most of ours do....thinking that he knows more about how to run/fix a team than we actually do. It's ok for us, because we're just dumb fans dreaming. It's not ok for him because he's just a dumb fan who owns a team and wants to run it. And what makes it even worse is this is something he's obsessed with and he's not going to be able to let go or back away. he'll hire and get involved in every aspect and he'll listen to and be influenced by too many voices (including his wife). Hire a president of football operations who knows his poo, then give him the authority to run the team and then back the hell off.

There needs to be a 100% rebuild of this team. Front office, coaches, and players. Just blow it up and start over.

I'd forgotten about him but I watched him a good bit the first half of the year. He knows his stuff for sure, but he's also just fun to watch.

kind of generous to be calling this a train ride being that we aren't going anywhere so no need to buckle up. we're stuck in the station. it's ok to get off the train and go sightseeing somewhere since it will still likely be sitting here still when you're done.

attempting to answer the OP question about patience....it's weird. it's not about patience anymore if you're already checked out. apathy has set in. i just don't really care that much. i don't care what they do and i have no idea what they should do because i'm just not putting the effort into it.

there is one guy...some special forces guy that was supposed to keep everyone in check or something like that.

i think it's going to be a looooong time before we have a TEAM that we can be proud of again. most likely going to be a bunch of one or two year wonders and the only ones who stick around will be ones with no personality, since it seems we are allergic to that now.

SO my dad goes through this short lived phase in his early 70s where he decided he would help take care of leftovers in the refrigerator for lunches. He sees a couple leftover things that he typically likes and he just throws it into a bowl together and warms it up. i would tell him that this isn't a good idea, but he just can't understand why it wouldn't be. then one day he tried something like leftover spaghetti mixed with sauerkraut mixed with a couple other things i couldn't see and he gets about half way through his bowl and says to me, "son, i don't feel so well..."and then he's up and hustling to the bathroom and when he's done he says, "you know, maybe i shouldn't have mixed those things together." that's kind of what we had here in carolina.

aside from this offseason when i bought the hype (and i'm totally fine with having finally feeling that optimism for just a moment even though it fell apart) i think i haven't really been stoked since 2015. that was a hard loss for me and i'm not sure i ever recovered from it.

a buffer between tepper and GM/HC would be good. keep the teppers in their lane. good luck with that, though. i do think we don't need a mild mannered HC at this point, though. we need someone that is going to light a fire under their highly paid asses and get them working and if they won't work...
