Beason out - Conner in - Diggs in trouble?

Diggs does his job.

I don't understand the obsession some have of wanting All-Pro's at every position

Nice YES

Realistic NO

Beason & Davis are All-Pro Players

Diggs is a hard working support player

Connor is a young LB thats getting exposer in camp that will help him down the road.

yea pretty much this thread is based on a desire to fit Connor in somewhere, anywhere, when there's really nothing wrong with Diggs. He is a very underrated starter living under the shadow of Beason and, to a lesser extent, Davis.

do you know the difference between different linebacking positions, the physical requirements, and what makes a good OLB vs. a good MLB?

i swear to god next time I get drunk I'm going to make a huge thread where I explain the differences between technique d linemen and position linebackers because this poo is ridiculous

first you have to stop having your peroid...

connor is not really suited to play the strongside.

coming out of college people only talked about him as a mike or a will at the pro level.

and in this scheme he's not really that fast for the will or the mike.

A couple days of practice don't make a franchise-changing situation.

    • Fair, sure.  Still not worthy of the #1 pick and still has major issues.  And you absolutely have to be concerned that for bryce to make a nfl caliber throw the conditions have to be optimal around him.  And those sacks around the 10 minute mark are just brutal to watch.
    • But his arm wasn't destroyed due to his throwing motion, it was from essentially two hits / injuries.  Tackle to prevent a pick 6 due to a lazy Benjamin route in 2016.  That was the start of having to be on a pitch count in practice.  2018 TJ Watt hit after Cam had already adjusted his mechanics and was having his best year statistically speaking, although I remember even that year questioning if he can still sling it deep.
    • Arm elasticity and arm strength are not the same thing.  There are some who have great arm strength but can't deliver off platform throws, sidearm, etc,  due to lack of elasticity.  I am concerned about Bryce's arm strength to deliver the ball when the anticipation throws aren't there and you simply need to fire a ball into a tight window.  Not sure that can ever be part of this game.  He does have good arm elasticity which is what made him special in college, throwing the ball on the move, that should serve him well in the NFL especially when he gets outside of the pocket.  My biggest concern is standing in the pocket, pressure in the face and not being able to set his feet will affect him more than others due to his height and arm strength.
