Byron Bell signs tender

Bell.  We don't have a great track record with 2nd rounders.  I heard something like 2/3 of 2nd rounders are busts.  For an UDFA, Bell has been outstanding.

Hurney didn't. Limited sample size but Gettleman made a really solid pick with Short last year.

If we had another middle or late 2nd I'd feel much more comfortable about grabbing BPA in the first and getting OT/WRs in the second.

Scott is the one to blame not Bell.

Bullshit. He could've at least stepped to his left to help out Scott. If he put forth the effort, he could've even finished off the guy after he got passed Scott. Instead he chose to just stand in place and look around like an idiot. It looked like he was supposed to help Scott out anyway and Scott was just hanging on for dear life while yelling "Thanks Bell!". I mean if you look at the very beginning it looks like Bell put a hand on him, if that...more like a whiff, and then just gave up.

I am not a huge fan of Bell's and Mario Williams treated him like a bitch no doubt.   He also admitted he had a bad game and played better after that.

Would I take a 2nd for him?  Absolutely.  Do I think he can play LT?  I think he can based on the information that Rivera and Co. believes he will be a good LT.

Tackle is a pretty tough position to play and Bell has had his ups and downs.    Our fans are definitely brutal on him.   Then again, if half the fans on this forum had their way we would have Pro Bowler at every position at league minimum.

Bell is doing what he can. He's a gifted athlete by our standards but by NFL standards he's slow. Really slow. Some of his worst plays go unnoticed because they are in the run game. The NFL is full of defensive ends with freakish athletic gifts and Bell cannot handle them.

I don't want to ruin your morning but what happens if Khalil Mack or Jadeveon Clowney get drafted into our division?
