Huddle opinion..Hardy and J.R's tolerance level

I know he has not been convicted yet and we should wait until the outcome.....but will J.R? We all know he is old school and values his teams rep(especially after that horrible incident years ago).Seems like Hardy likes the sauce and the night life and thats a bad combination for staying out of trouble. Question.....will the front office put him on a short leash and give him a second chance or will.J.R want to cut the cord regardless?

This is an interesting thread. Of the 32 owners, if there WAS one owner that would be so bold as to release a franchise tagged player because of something like this, it would be Jerry Richardson. I still don't think it will happen though. But he certainly won't be here past 2014.

We've been hearing one side of all this and people are already declaring him guilty and shipping him off.

That's a good point, but I think it's all about how we perceive different players. If it had been Thomas Davis or Kuechly arrested, I'm sure more people would be giving them the benefit of the doubt than Hardy. But things Hardy has done and said and posted on social media have definitely clouded people's perception of the person he is compared to others.

This needs to be settled in court.  Everyone is rushing to judgement for good reason.  Hardy is a big dude who plays with a few screws loose, and this wouldn't be the first time an athlete beat up a female.

On the flip side, some of the stuff that came out in court makes me want to know more.  I know we won't get the exact medical report about the girl, but we do need to find out more about the causes of her injury.  Like, were she thrown all over Hardy's extensive collection of weapons, not only should she have indicated injuries, there should also be parts of her on the weapons.

Again, we don't know what really happened, and we probably never will.  What the team has to do is figure out if this is it for him, and give him a chance to redeem himself, or let him go fearing another Rae Carruth in the near future...

If he's indeed guilty then I cannot and will not defend his actions, but the facts all need to come out first.

as fans we or most of us are waiting, but JR cares more about the team and if history is any indication...Hardy might just be gone already.

    • Rico walking is no big deal. I'll take a healthy 2024 Hubbard over Rico any time and losing Mays is, again, no a big deal.  Young is signed for what, $35M for the next two years? Say he wants $50M but the FO doesn't. If they put the franchise tag on him, that would be around $55? So basically they are getting Young for the next 3 years for an average of $30M per year. Putting the franchise tag on him wouldn't be my first choice but it gives them an option that wouldn't be locking him into a long term, $50M contract. I'm not suggestion they do that. Just that the option will be there should they get to that point. Hunt is on a 5 year deal which is done in 28 so he either restructures or is gone anyway. Moton will be 35 by then and will either be gone or have diminished playing time. Neither of those players has anything to do with getting Young a contract. The O line is way overpaid anyway. Hopefully by the time they are gone, Freeling and Hecht will be developed and Ickey will be healthy. Young was benched his second year and only got his job back because Dalton was injured. Not sure how you can call that entitled. And I would NOT say putting a rookie QB on a team with no receivers, tight ends or O lineman and then being put with a coach who never wanted you and is fired mid season, is a definition of luck. As far as competition, no team is going to bring in competition for a QB picked first overall - especially given the capital that was given up to get him.
    • With apologies to Lady Cowboy fan, any day we can screw over the Cowboys is a GOOD day…
    • Been here since 2014ish. Good times. Its a shame Zod wont sell, it wouldnt take that much effort to get this place back into shape.
