Are the Panther's an Offensive team now?

So does that mean that you don't think Meeks will make the defense any better? You believe in the good year/bad year trend?

And I think Jarrett is going to have his break out year this year.

I don't believe in the trend, no.

I also have zero reason to believe Meeks will be good or bad related to Trgo ...yet.

If the Cats got a Jimmy Johnson-like dude or Monte Kiffin, guys who had great success over a long period of time, I would have more reason to believe Meeks would have a huge impact. In my mind, Meeks has a lot to prove. Monte coached very good defenses when out from under Dungy's shadow. Meeks has to do the same. And no it's not that I think Dungy was a great defensive mastermind, but he was a defensive minded coach who I am not sure wasn't most of the reason they improved on D in Indy...YET. I think Dungy was brought to Indy because Polian is a good GM in many respects and understood that to be able to spend 99% (lol it's not that much but you get the picture) of the cap on offense he had to have a D that allowed them to use players who in most cases were easy and cheap to find. Dungy's fits the bill.

JJ had a completely offensive minded HC so he was THE man.

Now with Meeks, we will get full use of the defense. Which mean the offense should get the ball more, more scoring.

As good as the defense is, Do you think the team has taken a turn to be a more dominate offensive team? I know last year that's what we became. Will we stay that way?

I know what you are saying and I will join your bandwagon. I have always believed we had the talent to be an #1 defense. Prozac is as vanilla as they come. And a Jr. High Football coach could pick his teams apart. I think Meeks is gonna get our defense clicking and our O will get the ball much more.

I like you also believe Jarrett is going to arises to the occassion and be a huge asset for Jake and the Panthers.

Go Panthers

We will never be an offensive team as long as Fox is our coach. Nothing wrong with it, it's just simply not his style. But we will have to outscore everyone as opposed to stopping them this year. People tend to push aside the fact that the Colts were so successful because of Manning, not Meeks' schemes, now that he's here.

i am drinking the Meeks coolaid.... Hell 25 points and 300 yards a game isnt to hard to improve from...

Yeah, I won't put all the sugar I'm supposed to in the beginning and I'll add more and more sugar until everybody is drinking...and getting stupid dunk on the Panthers. :o

How much credit would Jake get for a SB win if he went 3 tds and 7 ints on their SB run while the run game and D dominated and Kasay provided all the points in one of their playoff games? Close to zero. And that is precisely what Manning and the Colts did on their SB run to win it. Even last year the D was the direct reason they won some games while Manning struggled. The "Manning is god" sentiment hurts Meeks/the rep of the Colts' D as well.

IMO, we don't have an explosive O, and we have a middle of the pack D.

We do have a very good running game, but need someone to step up on the other side of Smith to reach the next level.

I never agreed with that argument. How many teams have 2 top-tier Wideouts? Arizona? New England? It's few and far between that you can get the talent of an Anquan Boldin and a Larry Fitzgerald on one team. I bet Warner would take our running duo over Breaston and Boldin in a second. Besides, Moose damn near had a thousand yards receiving himself. That's a serviceable #2 when Smitty is your 1. At least for probably this year and next, maybe 3, then Smitty's explosiveness won't be his greatest attribute anymore, and we'll need to look at future WR options.

Our O is fine IMO, it's our piss-poor pressure that I worry about on D.

    • I read an article a few days ago that places like Seattle green bay and a few others are revoking tickets rights to holders that sell 100% of their tickets. That would do a lot of good league wide for bringing back some home field advantages. We aren't the only team who's stadiums get over run by visitors. It happens basically everywhere. That would go a long way to bringing ticket costs down
    • yeah, you can basically copy and paste my thoughts from this time last year.   We are building an O more suited for Jake Delhomme than Bryce Young.  Tmac and XL sound great for the downfield gunslinger  Give them opportunities to make plays.  From what I have seen, and the scouting stuff I have read.....TMac does not project as a get open quick WR.  He is going to have to work on getting off the line at this level, getting open, etc.  Which is all good.  This you go to think people will be studs out the gate or you are hater logic just ain't what I do.   Take my XL stance last year.  I lobbied hard for him.  When we drafted him I immediately told folks to pump their breaks on the wild expectations.    If XL legitimately turned into what I think he can be.....his best setup in the league would not be paired w/ a QB like Young.  if Bryce was going to be the dude, I would have lobbied for Ladd vs XL.  I was an XL guy.   And again, I would have gone Warren/Jeanty this draft.   I would have invested in small ball talent for him to be the PG for.
    • @TheBigKatare you going to Arizona? I'm thinking about making a road trip again. Haven't venture out since we got spanked in Miami a couple years ago
