Benjamin quickly impressing Panthers

Recommended Posts

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- It's about as easy to pick out the Carolina Panthers' first-round draft pick in rookie minicamp as it is a Thoroughbred in a field full of ponies.

The way he effortlessly glides over the middle.

The way without leaving the ground he snatches passes out of thin air that other receivers have to put four to six inches between them and the turf to reach.

The way his long braids flutter in the wind as he distances himself from defensive backs.

It didn't take long for Kelvin Benjamin to wow the Panthers during rookie minicamp. "He's everything we thought he would be," coach Ron Rivera said.
The way his smile shines even under the brightest sunlight.

That he's 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds and wears No. 13 doesn't hurt, either.

This could have been a season to remember with Smith and Nicks in the mix.

Good lord let it go

Will there be a WR this season without someone mentioning Smith? It has gotten old. Very, very old.

    • Ohio State no. 8 won it all last year.  No. 6 Penn State and no. 7 Notre Dame advanced to the semi-final. This year no. 7 Ole Miss is going to win it all.
    • agreed.  Lack of games/opportunity makes him a non-factor in OROTY talk.  He is just now getting the stage where there is legit film on him.  Takes awhile to really see how guys react to all the different scenarios and to find the real weak spots on a QB's play in an O.
    • Oh boy how the tables have turned...the passion and extent at which you defend Shough would make even the staunchest Bryce fanboys blush.  The bold part is especially straight from their playbook.  Even if someone here were to withhold giving Shough props, it's pretty understandable as a Panthers fan.  What's quite odd is becoming the biggest stan of our most hated rival's starting QB.  I don't think even Saints fans drool over him this hard. For the record I think this talk about "stans" and "fanboys" is cringe AF and I'm admittedly being rather hyperbolic because this is exactly the kind of discourse and language you personally love to engage in and it's fun to play in the mud from time to time.  There is absolutely no world where you do not meet your own criteria of a "Super Stan" for Shough with how loosely you apply that label to people for Bryce in here.  You're like the Final Boss of Super Stans.
