OLine, Cam holding the ball too long, or bad play calling?

It was a combination of things, but the oline believe it or not was not that much of a problem. We typically graded in the top ten as a unit in pass blocking according to most advanced metrics. That was due mostly to Gross and it's going to be "interesting" this year with him gone. But last year, it wasn't as bad as most people thought.

Me too.  I read an article about Flacco some time ago.  He was having trouble putting touch on his short passes.  I wonder if it was ALL Dixon.

I have learned enough to take a wait and see approach to anyone Gettlemen brings in.  His success rate is pretty solid.

Well...Wait and saw,  Dixon terrible and irrelevant.  O line as bad as can be.

Here's an interesting stat. Cam has been sacked at least 30+ times in his first 4 seasons including 43 last year and he's on pace to pass that this year.

Peyton Manning in 17 seasons has never been sacked 30 or more times in a single season. That's just crazy. Get this man some goddamn protection.

There's an obvious answer to why that is.

My dad always complains that Cam holds on to the ball too long, and compares Brady and Manning etc who get rid of the ball immediately.

I took up for Cam, and said the o-line sucks, the receivers are never open, we seemingly have no running game to help set up the pass and the play calling is subpar. I asked him how he though Manning or Brady would fair in Cams shoes.

i was really worried after the philly game and that first hit Cam took in the falcons game that he wouldn't recover psychologically from the hits...

WRONG! rivera just fuged with the hot streak at the end of the game. Cam is gonna be fine

Cam is very tough. I'm more worried about it messing with his throwing mechanics because he doesn't trust his line and want to avoid being hit

for sure. i still think he will be fine. he is resilient. I think someone made a thread about actually being happy with the game because it showed Cam wasn't ruined or whatever

Number doesn't even include the sacks cam has escaped from due to athleticism.  Pey Manning is a damn statue.
