Manziel Not Impressing

And I seriously doubt anybody here 'hates' RG3. They just don't think he's that good.

Maybe that's enough to constitute 'hate' in your mind, but most of us don't take it that seriously.

Unfortunately there are quite a few people here who take it seriously enough to openly mock him about his injury from his rookie year.

I cannot imagine that you have not seen the "RGknee" comments.

If ridiculing someone for suffering a possible career injury is not hate don't know what is.

as a passer, Pettine said of Manziel:

“It’s just tough for him now being in, as we’ve already referred to it, his infant stages where he’s just trying to learn the book,” head coach Mike Pettine said. “It’s hard to even take reps."

“I think a lot of it’s the mental part of it, he’s more worried about getting the formation right, making sure the motion is correct, and he’s got the cadence,” Pettine said. “Then, he’s got to worry about where guys are. Being good mechanically takes a back seat to learning the system first. I think you see over the maturation process, once all that stuff becomes second nature, that he’ll be a lot more comfortable.”

I've seen them, but my understanding of that was always as a comment on his fragility, not any desire to see him hurt again.

If you think differently, I'd say ask someone who calls him that how they mean it.

I think they realize the only way they can get Manziel on the field is to use that. What's missing is that Manziel was never a read-option QB. His bread and butter was standing 10 seconds behind that stout OL and then run 10 yards backward and then heave it to a college type wide open receiver. He won't be able to do that in the NFL because nobody's open in the NFL. They really gonna get that kid killed. 4.68 speed is slow in the NFL.

Your tinfoil hat is wrapped a little too tight.

And talking about 'common sense' after some of the stuff you've posted here...

This. Panthers fans have defended Cam vehemently from negative press and opinions but seem to be feasting on the same now that it's directed at Manziel.

fug him, he's not a Panther.

    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
    • Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
