2014 Game by Game Analysis

Really hard to make season projections this early, mainly because injuries can derail even the best of teams.

agreed. thats why i made these predictions without considering injuries for any team. idealistic? yes. accurate comparison of overall team talent? yes.

I look at the OP's analysis like this.

I see it not so much as a prediction that we WILL go 13-3....but more that the match-ups (on paper) are such that we maybe SHOULD win each of those games.  But we all know that the better team does not always win.

Nice analysis by the OP.

You also have to consider free agent pickups.  Sometimes mediocre players are just a better fit in another system.  I'll use Mike Mitchell as an example.

I enjoyed the article OP.  Predictions this time of year are tough.  Anyone's guess really.

yes. the way i see the season progressing for both the Panthers and their opponents, the Panthers should win 13 games. If the Panthers are ELITE, they might win one or two more. i dont think they are elite, but they will be good. perhaps better than 2013. yes the AFC North and NFC North look to be better. but the moves they made in the offseason led me to believe that they wont be good enough to present alot of challenges to a Carolina team that might be even better than it was last year.

also, the schedule works in our favor to present good match ups. no one caught my mistake but if the Saints win in Week 9 and both teams have the same win/loss record after our bye in Week 12, the Saints will own the division due to a head to head. it wont go to the 4th tiebreaker like i said it would. this works in Carolina's favor though because come Week 14, we will have the same type of situation we did in Week 15 of the 2013 season. We will have the incentive to win to capture the division from the Saints, and this year, that opportunity will be presented in THEIR house. after they beat us in our house back in Week 9, the Panthers will be thirsty for blood. recapturing the division crown by winning down in the bayou will satisfy that blood-lust. same is true for the game after we get beat by the saints. God help the Eagles if the Panthers lose in primetime to the rival Saints AT HOME.

Good teams don't win 13 games.....elite teams do.

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27
    • Your intelligence is artificial.
    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
