The #1 Problem with CHARLOTTE sports fans

Recommended Posts

There are a multitude of problems, but:

The typical Charlotte sports fan TAKES FOR GRANTED what we have.

6'5" 250 lb. QB? They act like they can just trash him and that he can't leave here, literally, in 365 days.

I had to come share that though because I just got in an argument with a co-worker and it just fuging pisses me off how ungrateful people are to have the superstar that we have.

So what if he does a fuging pose? It's entertainment. They're trying to sell tickets and create a brand..we may be a bunch of old farts (well I'm getting there) but the kids love it.

In closing, I challange all of us huddlers to stick it to any Panthers fan that says a foul word about our QB, not just arguing his talent, but reminding them of the STAR that we have and the PLATFORM that it gives the city.

Because this talent:

Doesn't come around every day. I think the biggest issue is most Charlotte area sports fans assume that it does.

Just had to get it off my chest. I got to talking with 2 guys I work with that were going on about how Newton brings the Panthers down, he's arrogant, he hasn't grown up as a passer enough, etc.

It's all stupidity, but what makes me the most angry about it is that people around here just don't rally behind the players that bring them wins, especially a 2x pro bowl superstar QB.

Their claim was that Newton did nothing to help win that SF playoff game. It got me all angry, I had to vent it on here.

You guys crack me up, though...it's the offseason WTF else do we have to talk about? Let's take a moment and bask in our QB's greatness how hard is that!!

I hope you didn't just vent it here.  Tell them how fuging stupid they are.

This thread is pretty random. I kind of get what you are attempting to say though. I feel like there are some people in the fan base who merely tolerate him at this point, instead of fully accepting him. It looks like we've slowly began to weed out those ignorant types though thankfully.

    • This whole thing is sooooooooo dumb, why any of this is an ongoing news story is ridiculous. There are only 2 people who should actually care about this, his wife and her husband. Affairs happen, not that I'm saying it's okay to cheat, but at worst, the only "bad thing" that could be coming around from this affair is that information was passed between them, the same type of info that any coach and journalist who are friends may share with each other to help the other out. The Patriots shouldn't care as long as it doesn't affect his focus on the team.  And those saying that he's lost the locker room and their respect over the "lying" have to be fooling themselves.  Half the players in that locker room are more than likely actively or previously have cheated on their significant other.  So it's not like they're looking at him saying, "what a liar and terrible person, I can't trust him as my coach anymore"
    • Seriously?!?! First SNF game of the year and it's two teams that didn't make the playoffs last year? I thought they always made that Week 1 SNF game a banger with two great teams from the previous season. EDIT:  Just looked, last year was Bills-Ravens, previous season was Lions-Rams, Giants-Cowboys ironically before that (but both coming off the playoffs).  From what I can tell, this will be the first time since 2020 that SNF's week 1 game isn't 2 teams from the playoffs the year before, and the Cowboys were in that one too, against the Rams who also didn't make it the year before.
