PFF: Kuechly among NFL's most overrated.

He is just okay against the big time tight ends in passing game, I would call that a weakness of his.

Outside of that, he's outstanding in every other area and there is a lot of other areas. Hes much much more than just some pretty good but not great MLB as he's being made out to be by PFFF.

Here is the thing about PFF. Even The Hoodie has said before that when watching film to game plan his opponents, when defensive breakdowns happen he often doesn't know whose fault it was because he doesn't know the defensive play call and defender responsibilities.

So while PFF is fun for fans, don't put too much stock in third party grading systems

Didn't know that. Good insight. I'll have to remember that for future PFF references.

Computerized grading system orrrrrrrr humans that watch these guys play every sunday. I'll take the side of humans.

what is everyone referring to?  Profootballfocus?  they watch every game, every down, every snap lol it's not just some super computer making up statistics.

And we're all bias here, even if Luke was legitimately overrated, no one who's a pantehr fan could fairly judge him like an outside source, etc.

And thinking back on the Patriots game, Luke did have a PI that could have potentially cost us the game.

You guys also need to understand that the media loves voicing controversial subjects without any actual points....it's how they keep buzz going in the offseason, and how they market themselves, loook at this thread, 8 pages on something that's just an opinion lol also a good bit of website and name dropping on each page.  It's all marketing.

Because he's not big and black and plays for the 49ers.

But seriously. His athleticism is questioned all the time under the stigma he's white but his combine numbers are great.

They praised Urlacher, and Dan Morgan in their days.  Watching Luke he is all over the place and tends to have holes in his game also.  We love him because hes our guy but he tends to be a liability in coverage lets just be real.

Interceptions are not a great gauge on overall coverage ability.  He's smart and knows how to be in the right place, but we've seen how he struggles when running with a TE 1 v 1.  His strength is being a beast against the run.

What LBers have effectively shut down Graham, Tony G and Gronk?  Course his coverage is going to be somewhat lacking against those guys...and those guys are three that made the biggest splash against him.

PFF is more informative analytically than many but its still assessed by humans who, in turn, make errors. Then again they are often right more than many imo.

Regardless, Luke strikes me as the kind of guy that will be motivated by cries of him being overrated.

    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
    • Nah we just talking about giving a platform and normalizing predators (who both beat women) opinions and celebrating it if it fits your narrative.  If that's fun I'm fine being a miserable fug by not supporting P.O.S like that. N b4 you call me a libtard or some other dumb ish know I'm an Anarchist/Libertarian and believe both these dudes should get a complete ass whooping (at min) or something worse for what they have done to women in this world.
